Greg Brown (broadcaster)
Greg Brown is a journeyman American sportscaster, born in Washington, D.C., who has worked as a play-by-play announcer for the Pittsburgh Pirates on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh and KDKA-FM since 1994. He works with Bob Walk, and John Wehner. Originally, Brown called games with Lanny Frattare until Frattare retired after the 2008 season. Brown grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. He became a Pirates fan through the broadcasts on KDKA radio and would visit Pittsburgh each summer with his parents to see baseball games at Three Rivers Stadium. Brown enrolled at Point Park College and landed an internship with the Pirates' promotion department in 1979, where his duties included serving as the inaugural backup Pirate Parrot. (The Pirates would go on to win the World Series that year.) He then worked in the Pirates' front office for 10 years in a variety of roles for the sales, broadcasting and public relations departments. The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo metropolitan area. The Bills compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) East division. John Murphy (born March 14, 1955) is an American sportscaster from Buffalo, New York. He is best known as the voice of the Buffalo Bills Radio Network and host of ''One Bills Live'' (formerly ''The John Murphy Show'') on WGR and MSG Western New York. In addition to the Bills, he also served as commentator for the Buffalo Bisons, Canisius College Golden Griffins, Buffalo Bulls and Niagara University Purple Eagles in the 1980s. Early life and education Murphy grew up in Lockport, New York. His father, Matthew Murphy, was a member of the New York State Assembly; his brother Paul Murphy served as general manager of the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center until his death in December 2020. Pete Weber (born January 19, 1951) is the play-by-play voice of the NHL's Nashville Predators, a position he has held with the organization since the team's first season. During the lockout that caused the entire 2004–05 NHL season to be canceled, Weber spent time following the Nashville Sounds minor league baseball team, and served as host of a weekly video on demand show about the team available on Comcast in the Nashville metropolitan area. Weber also called the 2003 and 2004 Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl for WWTN radio. He served as co-host of "SportsNight" on WWTN & WNFN radio from July 2003 to August 2005.
