Euboea
Evia (, ; el, Εύβοια ; grc, Εὔβοια ) or Euboia (, ) is the second-largest Greek island in area and population, after Crete. It is separated from Boeotia in mainland Greece by the narrow Euripus Strait (only at its narrowest point). Chalcis ( ; Ancient Greek & Katharevousa: , ) or Chalkida, also spelled Halkida (Modern Greek: , ), is the chief town of the island of Euboea or Evia in Greece, situated on the Euripus Strait at its narrowest point. Aidipsos
Aidipsos ( el, Αιδηψός, ) is a village and a former municipality in Euboea, Greece. The municipality Aidipsos was founded in 1997 by the merger of the municipality Loutra Aidipsou with the communities Agios and Gialtra. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Istiaia-Aidipsos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 115.461 km2. 80 of Greece's 752 hot springs are located in Aidipsos, making it a popular tourist destination. The spas date back more than 20,000 years. In 2011 the population was 6,141. Agia Anna, Euboea
Agia Anna ( el, Αγία Άννα) is a village and a community in the municipal unit Nileas, in northern part of the island Euboea, Greece. The community includes the seaside village Agkali (Αγκάλι). At about 7 km, it has one of the longest beaches in Europe. It lies 12 km northeast of Limni and 47 km north of Chalkida. During winter, there are about 1000 inhabitants, with the number increasing highly during summer to around 7000 people. The commune is also famous for some of the best camping in Greece. Istiaia ( el, Ιστιαία, , before 1913: Ξηροχώρι - ''Xirochori''2.537 Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Istiaia-Aidipsos, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 181.299 km2. At the 2011 census the population was 7,091 for the municipal unit and 5,522 for the community. The town is located in the northwestern end of the island Euboea, 5 km from the north coast, and north of the mountain Telethrio. It was the capital of Istiaia Province until its abolishment in 2006.
