History The club was established as Grays Juniors in 1890, before merging with former Southern League club Grays United to form Grays Athletic.George H. Aveley
Aveley is a town and former civil parish in the unitary authority of Thurrock in Essex, England, and forms one of the traditional Church of England parishes. Aveley is 16 miles (26.2 km) east of Charing Cross. In the 2021 United Kingdom census it had a population of 9,801. In 1931 the parish had a population of 2,003. The 1984–85 season was the 70th season of the Isthmian League, which is an English football competition featuring semi-professional and amateur clubs from London, East and South East England. The league consisted of three divisions. After 19 clubs, mainly from the Athenian League joined the league, Division Two was divided into two sections. Hucknall, formerly Hucknall Torkard, is a market town in the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire, England. It lies 7 miles north of Nottingham, 7 miles south-east of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, 9 miles from Mansfield and 10 miles south of Sutton-in-Ashfield. It is the second largest town in the Ashfield district after Sutton-in-Ashfield. The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. The National League South, formerly Conference South, is one of the second divisions of the National League in England, immediately below the top division National League. The 2003–04 season was the 89th season of the Isthmian League, which is an English football competition featuring semi-professional and amateur clubs from London, East and South East England. It was the last season for the Isthmian League as a feeder for the Conference Premier.
