Gratentour XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Gratentour, Haute-Garonne in the Midi-Pyrénées region. The club plays in the French Elite 2 Championship. History Gratentour Rugby XIII have won two Coupe Falcou in 2010 and 2019. They had lost out to AS Clairac XIII in the National 2, now called the National Division 1, league final 4-34 one year before. Recently in season 2012/13 they reached the regional Midi-Pyrenees National Division 2 league final against Cahors Lot XIII and the final of French National Division 2 league final in 2018/2019 against Saint-Estève XIII catalan reserve grade. Midi-Pyrénées (; oc, Miègjorn-Pirenèus or ; es, Mediodía-Pirineos) is a former administrative region of France. Since 1 January 2016, it has been part of the new region of Occitania. Elite 2 (rugby League)
Elite 2 (formerly the Elite Two Championship) is the second tier semi-professional rugby league competition in France below Elite 1 (rugby league), Elite 1, but above the National Division 1. The season runs from September to April. The clubs play each other home and away before entering into a series of play-off matches resulting in a Grand Final. The winners can gain promotion to Elite 1 providing they meet a minimum criteria. Occasionally the runners-up could be offered promotion. History The league was previously called the National League 1 from 1958 to 2002. The Elite Two Championship was formed in 2002 when the French Rugby League Championship was split into two Elite One and Elite Two. There was no competition in 1987 and in 1988 the league was won on league placings and not by a series of play-offs. The Albert Falcou Cup (french: Coupe Albert-Falcou), also called Albert Falcou French Cup (french: Coupe de France Albert-Falcou), is an annual knock-out competition organised by the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII for amateur rugby league clubs in France. History The competition was introduced in 1937 and was originally known as the French Amateur Cup. The inaugural winners were the short-lived La Rochelle club (during World War II the club was forced to merge with the city's rugby union club, Atlantique Stade Rochelais, by the Vichy Government of the time). When rugby league was legalised again at the end of the war, the cup was re-instituted as the National Cup. This incarnation was contested between 1945 and 1962. AS Clairac XIII
Association Sports Clairacaise XIII who are more commonly known as AS Clairac XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Clairac, Lot-et-Garonne in the Aquitaine region. The club plays in the National Division 2 Aquitaine regional league, which is the 4th tier of Rugby League in France. Home games are played at the Stade Vivens. History The club was founded during the early 1950s and reached the old 2nd Division final in 1958 losing out to US Apt XIII 8-18. In 1971 the club began using its current name AS Clairac XIII and in 1980 they lifted their first trophy when they won the Coupe Falcou. In season 94/95 the club won the Federal Division, nowadays called ''National Division 2'' beating Sainte-Livrade XIII in the final 20-12 but didn't opt for promotion. The National Division 1 is the third tier of rugby league in France, below the Elite Two Championship and above the National Division 2. The season runs from September to April. From season 2012–13 the league was split into regions ''East'' and ''West'', each team plays each other in their regional league home and away with the top sides then meeting in a series of play-off matches resulting in a Grand Final. The winner can be promoted to ''Elite Two'' subject to having adequate finances and facilities. Cahors Lot XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Cahors in the Lot department in the south of France. Founded in 1945 the club plays in the National Division 2 Aquitaine regional league. Home games are played at the Stade Lucien Desprats. History Founded in 1945 by ''Norbert Issaly'', who would be the new club's first chairman, and ''Raymond Rouviere'' who was the club's first secretary, Cahors XIII as they were then called had a tough start to life. The new club had no ground as the local rugby club opposed them and blocked their attempts to access any land and for their first match at Lavardac XIII the club had to borrow shirts from US Villeneuve XIII. The green and white shirts borrowed would remain the club colours until 1990. A home ground was finally secured when they were allowed to use the playing fields at a local school, ''Gambetta High School'' whose head teacher was a rugby league fan. Saint-Estève XIII Catalan who were previously called Union Treiziste Catalane or UTC for short are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Perpignan in the region of Pyrénées-Orientales in the south of France. Founded in 2000 after a merger between AS Saint-Estève and XIII Catalan the club plays in the Elite One Championship which is the top tier rugby league competition in France. They have won the league title once and the cup four times.
