Grant McLennan
Grant William McLennan (12 February 19586 May 2006) was an Australian alternative rock singer-songwriter-guitarist. He co-founded the Go-Betweens with Robert Forster in Brisbane in 1977. In addition to his work with the Go-Betweens (1977–89, 2000–06), he issued four solo albums: ''Watershed'' (1991), '' Fireboy'' (1992), ''Horsebreaker Star'' (1994) and ''In Your Bright Ray'' (1997). He also undertook side-projects and collaborations with other artists. McLennan received a number of accolades recognising his achievements and contributions as songwriter and lyricist. In May 2001, the Australasian Performing Right Association listed "Cattle and Cane" (1983), written by McLennan, as one of their top 30 Australian songs of all time. McLennan died of a heart attack in 2006 at the age of 48. Rockhampton
Rockhampton is a city in the Rockhampton Region of Central Queensland, Australia. The population of Rockhampton in June 2021 was 79,967, Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. making it the fourth-largest city in the state outside of the cities of South East Queensland, and the 22nd-largest city in Australia. The album features Brett Myers of Died Pretty and Wayne Connolly of Knievel on guitars, Maurice Argiro of Underground Lovers on bass, and Tim Powles of The Church on drums. Lee Remick (The Go-Betweens Song)
"Lee Remick" is the debut single by Australian indie group The Go-Betweens. It was released in September 1978 by the Australian independent record label, Able Label, with only 700 copies of the 7" vinyl record produced. Both songs were re-released on ''The Able Label Singles'' in 1986 (together with "People Say" and "Don't Let Him Come Back") and on the 1999 compilation album, ''78 'til 79 The Lost Album''. In January 2009 the German label, Little Teddy Recordings, re-issued the single for the 30th anniversary of its original release. Only 500 vinyl copies were pressed. The copies were dubbed from the original vinyl record as the original master tapes of the recordings, which were sent to Beserkley Records in 1988, were subsequently lost and are presumed to have been destroyed in a fire. The Australian Rock Database was a website with a searchable online database that listed details of Australian rock music artists, albums, bands, producers and record labels. It was established in 2000 by Swedish national Magnus Holmgren, who had developed an interest in Australian music when visiting as an exchange student. "Bye Bye Pride" is a song by Australian alternative band The Go-Betweens that first appeared on their fifth studio album '' Tallulah''. It was released as a 7" and 12" vinyl single on the Beggars Banquet label in the United Kingdom in August 1987, with "The House That Jack Kerouac Built" as the B-side. In Australia it was released in 1987 by True Tone Records, with "Time In The Desert" as the B-Side. "Time In The Desert" was originally released as the B-side of the band's earlier single, "Cut It Out" (the second single from ''Tallulah''). True Tone subsequently in 1988 re-released the single with a new B-side, "The Clarke Sisters". The song failed to chart in either the UK or Australia however "Bye Bye Pride" was voted in at No. 89 in Triple J's Hottest 100 for 1989 and No. 85 in the Hottest 100 for 1990. Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland.
