Government Technology Agency
The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) is a statutory board of the Government of Singapore, under the Prime Minister's Office. It was restructured from Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) in 2016, and officially legislated in Parliament on 18 August that year. Overview GovTech is responsible for the delivery of the Singapore government's digital services to the public. It is the agency that provides the infrastructure to support the implementation of the country's Smart Nation initiative to utilise infocomm technologies, networks and big data to create tech-enabled solutions. The Government Chief Information Office (GCIO) is under GovTech. From 1 May 2017, GovTech was moved from the Ministry of Communications and Information to the Prime Minister's Office (Singapore) (PMO). Government Of Singapore
The Government of Singapore is defined by the Constitution of Singapore to mean the executive branch of the state, which is made up of the president and the Cabinet. Although the president acts in their personal discretion in the exercise of certain functions as a check on the Cabinet and the Parliament, their role is largely ceremonial. It is the Cabinet, composed of the prime minister and other ministers appointed on their advice by the president, that have the general direction and control of the government. Ng Chee Khern
Ng Chee Khern (born 18 October 1965) is a Singaporean civil servant and former major-general who served as Chief of Air Force between 2006 and 2009. He is currently serving as Permanent Secretary (Smart Nation and Digital Government) under the Prime Minister's Office, and Chairman of the Government Technology Agency. Education Ng is an alumnus of Victoria School and Hwa Chong Junior College, and was a recipient of the President's Scholarship and Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship in 1985. He graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Arts with second upper class honours degree and a Master of Arts degree in philosophy, politics and economics (PPE). The Prime Minister's Office (PMO; ms, Pejabat Perdana Menteri; zh, 总理公署; ta, பிரதமர் அலுவலகம்) is the executive branch of the Government of Singapore responsible for overseeing the other ministries and political matters that are of great importance to the nation, such as tackling corruption and holding elections. Smart Nation
The Smart Nation is an initiative by the Government of Singapore to harness infocomm technologies, networks and big data to create tech-enabled solutions. Overview The Smart Nation was an initiative launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 24 November 2014. In financial year 2017, the government had set aside $2.4 billion to support the initiative, which involves the government purchasing services from technology startups rather than offering grants to support them. To support development, open data is made available at government portals such as Data.gov.sg. Some areas of focus include enhancing public transport networks, enabling successful aging and ensuring a secure but open data marketplace. Lee Hsien Loong (; born 10 February 1952) is a Singaporean politician and former brigadier-general who has been serving as Prime Minister of Singapore and Secretary-General of the People's Action Party since 2004. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Teck Ghee division of Ang Mo Kio GRC since 1991, and previously Teck Ghee SMC between 1984 and 1991. Cyber Security Agency (Singapore)
The Cyber Security Agency (CSA) is a government agency under the Prime Minister's Office, but is managed by the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Government of Singapore.
