Gordon Purcell
Gordon Purcell (born February 14, 1959) is an American comics artist, perhaps best known for his '' Star Trek'' work, in particular his realistic renditions of the actors who play that franchise’s characters, as well as those of similarly licensed books, such as ''The X-Files'', '' Xena: Warrior Princess'', ''Lost in Space'', ''Godzilla'', ''The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles'', ''Barb Wire'', and '' The Terminator''. Early life Born in Lansing, Michigan, Purcell grew up reading Marvel Comics and DC Comics, and his love of drawing was sparked by watching cartoons of Spider-Man and Batman. The first comic book he read was a Disney comic book. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with Bachelor's degrees in Studio Arts and Theater Arts. Lansing, Michigan
Lansing () is the capital of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is mostly in Ingham County, although portions of the city extend west into Eaton County and north into Clinton County. The Fantastic Four is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team debuted in ''The Fantastic Four'' #1 (cover dated Nov. 1961), helping usher in a new level of realism in the medium. It was the first superhero team created by artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby and editor/co-plotter Stan Lee, who developed a collaborative approach to creating comics with this title. Minnesota Historical Society
The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution dedicated to preserving the history of the U.S. state of Minnesota. It was founded by the territorial legislature in 1849, almost a decade before statehood. The Society is named in the Minnesota Constitution. It is headquartered in the Minnesota History Center in downtown Saint Paul. Although its focus is on Minnesota history it is not constrained by it. The Flash (comic Book)
''The Flash'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero of the same name. Throughout its publication, the series has primarily focused on two characters who have worn the mantle of the Flash: Barry Allen, the second Flash (1959–1985, 2010–2020), and Wally West, the third Flash (1987–2006, 2007–2008, 2021–present). The series began at issue #105, picking up its issue numbering from the anthology series '' Flash Comics'' which had featured Jay Garrick as the first Flash.
