Golnar Adili
Golnar Adili ( fa, گلنار عدیلی; born 1976 in Virginia) is an Iranian-born American multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Much of her work is influenced by growing up in post-Iranian Revolution in Tehran and issues of displacement. Biography Adili was born in 1976 in Falls Church, Virginia, but by 1980 at the age four her family moved back to Iran. Her parents were political activists and after their move to Iran, her father was forced to flee back to the United States. She returned to the United States in 1994 to reunite with her father and pursue her college education. In 1998 she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the University of Virginia and in 2006 she received a Master's degree in Architecture from University of Michigan. Golnar Khosrowshahi (born September 18, 1971) is an Iranian-Canadian businesswoman and the CEO and Founder of Reservoir Media Management, Inc. She is currently a member of the New York Philharmonic Board of Directors, and she also served as Board Chair for of Silkroad, a musical collective founded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 2000. Khosrowshahi is the daughter of Hassan Khosrowshahi, an Iranian-Canadian investor and philanthropist, and she is the cousin of Dara Khosrowshahi, the current CEO of Uber. Golnar Servatian ( fa, گلنار ثروتیان; also Romanized as "Golnār Servatiān", ; born 1977 in Tabriz) is an Iranian cartoonist and book illustrator. Biography Golnar Servatian was born in 1977 in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Her father, Behrouz Servatian, was a professor of the Persian language and literature. She began her career as Graphic designer and Cartoonist in 2006. She has spent most of her time focusing on illustrating children’s books and magazines, and has done this professionally since 2006.
