Glen Alvelais
Glen Alvelais (born February 22, 1968) is an American heavy metal guitarist from the San Francisco Bay Area. He was the lead guitarist for the thrash metal band Forbidden and has also played in Testament. Career Forbidden Alvelais joined Forbidden (then known as "Forbidden Evil") in 1987 as the replacement for Robb Flynn who had quit to join Vio-lence. Alvelais recorded three demos with the band, followed by their cult classic debut '' Forbidden Evil''. After the 1989 touring to support the album, whose Dynamo Open Air appearance was captured on the live album "Raw Evil - Live at the Dynamo", Alvelais parted ways with the band. Testament In 1992, lead guitarist Alex Skolnick informed Testament that he would be leaving the band at the end of the tour and chose Glen as someone he thought would be a good replacement for him. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. Steve Souza
Steve "Zetro" Souza (born March 24, 1964) is an American musician, best known for his work as lead vocalist with thrash metal band Exodus from 1986 to 1994, and again from 2002 to 2004. He rejoined Exodus for a third time in 2014. Souza is one of two singers, along with Chuck Billy, for the band Dublin Death Patrol. He also sings for the thrash metal band Tenet and was the lead singer for the thrash metal band Legacy (later known as Testament). In 2011, Souza announced his new project, Hatriot. He stepped down as the frontman of the band in 2015, leaving the role of lead vocals to his son, Cody. ''Demonic'' is the seventh studio album by American thrash metal band Testament. Released in 1997 with original members Chuck Billy (vocals) and Eric Peterson (guitar), the record also features artists Derrick Ramirez (bass), Gene Hoglan (drums) and Glen Alvelais (guitar). Ramirez was previously the band's first guitarist (although here he is performing on bass guitar), and Alvelais had previously performed with Testament on the 1993 live album, ''Return to the Apocalyptic City''. ''Demonic'' was also Testament's only album with Hoglan for 15 years, until he rejoined and performed on the album '' Dark Roots of Earth'' (2012). Musically and lyrically, this album is very different from anything Testament had released before, marking a deviation from previous albums to a much darker death metal sound mirroring the album's exorcism theme. Steven Siro Vai (; born June 6, 1960) is an American guitarist, composer, songwriter, and producer. A three-time Grammy Award winner and fifteen-time nominee, Vai started his music career in 1978 at the age of eighteen as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, and played in Zappa's band from 1980 to 1983. He embarked on a solo career in 1983 and has released eight solo albums to date. He has recorded and toured with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake, as well as recording with artists such as Public Image Ltd, Mary J. Blige, Spinal Tap, Alice Cooper, Motörhead, and Polyphia. A Band Called Pain (abbreviated ABCP) are an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California. The band was formed by cousins Allen Richardson (also known as Allen Anthony formerly of the Roc-A-Fella Records R&B group Christion) and Shaun Bivens who both hail from the San Francisco Bay Area. The band's debut studio album ''Broken Dreams'' was released in 2006, and was dubbed one of the ten best (#6) California albums of the year by '' Zero Magazine''.
