Gene McNary
Gene McNary (born September 14, 1935) is an American politician. He has served as the Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Executive Director of the Missouri Gaming Commission, and County Executive of St. Louis County. He has also been a Republican candidate for Governor and Senator in Missouri. Early life, education, and career Gene McNary was born September 14, 1935 in Muncie, Indiana. His father was and oil jobber and his mother worked with him. McNary earned both his bachelor's and law degrees from Indiana University. After law school McNary decided to move to St. Louis, where he joined the Lashly, Lashly & Miller law firm. Missouri Gaming Commission
The Missouri Gaming Commission regulates riverboat casinos, charitable bingo, and fantasy sports contests in Missouri. It is headquartered in Jefferson City. The Missouri Gaming Commission was established in 1993 to regulate excursion gambling boats. Thomas Eagleton
Thomas Francis Eagleton (September 4, 1929 – March 4, 2007) was an American lawyer serving as a United States senator from Missouri, from 1968 to 1987. He was briefly the Democratic vice presidential nominee under George McGovern in 1972. He suffered from bouts of depression throughout his life, resulting in several hospitalizations, which were kept secret from the public. When they were revealed, it humiliated the McGovern campaign and Eagleton was forced to quit the race. He later became adjunct professor of public affairs at Washington University in St. Louis. The Missouri House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 163 members, representing districts with an average size of 37,000 residents. House members are elected for two-year terms during general elections held in even-numbered years. Missouri's house is the fourth largest in the United States even as the state ranks 18th in population. Charlie Dooley
Charlie A. Dooley is an American politician. A Democrat, he served as the County Executive of St. Louis County, Missouri until January 1, 2015. Dooley was the first African American to hold this position. Early life and career Dooley grew up in St. Louis, attending the St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Wellston School District. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. After his military service, Dooley went to work for McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and retired after 30 years of service in 1999. Buzz Westfall
George "Buzz" Westfall (March 19, 1944 – October 27, 2003) was an American lawyer and politician. He served in the elected offices of Prosecuting Attorney (1978–1990) and County Executive (1991–2003) of St. Louis County, Missouri. He died, while in office, of ''Staphylococcus aureus'' meningitis at the age of 59. Westfall grew up in public housing in St. Louis. He attended St. Louis University High School and graduated from Saint Louis University with his BA and JD degrees. After completing law school, he took a position in the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's office as an assistant prosecutor. Todd Akin
William Todd Akin (July 5, 1947 – October 3, 2021) was an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for from 2001 to 2013. He was a member of the Republican Party. Born in New York City, Akin grew up in the Greater St. Louis area.
