Geminism
''Geminism'' is the second album by brother sister group Gemini, released in 1987. Like their previous album, Geminism features songwriting contributions again from artists such as Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, formerly of ABBA, and Anders Glenmark and Ingela Forsman. The album's material overall was less serious than its predecessor. One song from the LP became a hit: " Mio My Mio". Gemini are a Swedish brother and sister duo, consisting of Karin Glenmark and Anders Glenmark. The duo released two original albums: ''Gemini (Gemini album), Gemini'' (1985) and ''Geminism'' (1987). Both albums reached the Swedish Top 20, while their success was limited to Scandinavia. Their only truly international release was the single "Just Like That (song), Just Like That" (the chorus of which was recorded and is, as yet, officially unreleased by ABBA). Prior to their work as Gemini, Karin and Anders formed half of the group Glenmarks (with their uncle Bruno Glenmark and aunt Ann-Louise Hanson) and also released two singles together, with 1984's "Kall som is" ("Cold As Ice") being placed 4th at Melodifestivalen 1984, Melodifestivalen (the Swedish heats for the Eurovision Song Contest). Björn Ulvaeus
Björn Kristian Ulvaeus (; born 25 April 1945) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, producer, a member of the musical group ABBA, and co-composer of the musicals '' Chess'', '' Kristina från Duvemåla'', and ''Mamma Mia!'' He co-produced the films ''Mamma Mia!'' and ''Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again'' with fellow ABBA member and close friend Benny Andersson. He is the oldest member of the group. ''Gemini'' is an album by Gemini released in 1985. Produced by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anders Glenmark, the album features songwriting contributions from Andersson, Ulvaeus, Glenmark and Ingela Forsman. The album peaked at No. 9 on Sverigetopplistan in November 1985. Two songs were of particular interest: "Slowly", a song written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, was previously recorded by ABBA's Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad and the unreleased ABBA song " Just Like That" was re-written and included on this LP. Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus contend that the inclusion of this new version of "Just Like That" means that the ABBA version cannot be released, saying that there can't be two official versions of a song with the same title that are so similar and yet so different. An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Polar Music is a Swedish record company founded in 1963 by Stig Anderson and his friend Bengt Bernhag. Background The first act that Polar Music signed was the Hootenanny Singers featuring Björn Ulvaeus. Polar eventually gained prosperity producing Ulvaeus' next group, international superstars ABBA. As a small Scandinavian company based in Sweden, Polar could not afford to set up operations worldwide and was ABBA's record company only in the Scandinavian countries. Therefore, ABBA's recordings were licensed to different record companies in each country, but usually to companies that had international operations, meaning they could effectively compete with each other to acquire the licenses in more countries if they proved successful in their own. Göran Bror Benny Andersson (; born 16 December 1946) is a Swedish musician, singer, composer and producer best known as a member of the musical group ABBA and co-composer of the musicals ''Chess'', ''Kristina från Duvemåla'', and '' Mamma Mia!'' For the 2008 film version of ''Mamma Mia!'' and its 2018 sequel, '' Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again'', he worked also as an executive producer. Since 2001, he has been active with his own band Benny Anderssons orkester. Early life Göran Bror Benny Andersson was born 16 December 1946 in the Vasastan district of Stockholm to civil engineer Gösta Andersson (1912–1973) and his wife Laila (1920–1971). Anders Glenmark
Gert Anders Glenmark (born 20 November 1953) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He is the brother of singer Karin Glenmark and nephew of band leader Bruno Glenmark. Career Among the artists for whom Glenmark has written and produced are Eva Dahlgren, Orup, Ted Gärdestad, and Patrik Isaksson. He has also, early on in his career, been a backing singer on solo albums by members of ABBA, such as Anni-Frid Lyngstad's '' Frida Ensam'' and Agnetha Fältskog's ''Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus'', both released in 1975.
