Fernando Gaviria Rendon
Fernando Gaviria Rendón (born 19 August 1994) is a Colombian professional road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is well known as a sprinter. Riding for the Colombian national cycling team, Gaviria came to international attention at the 2015 Tour de San Luis, where he beat former world champion Mark Cavendish in two sprint finishes. His first major Grand Tour wins came at the 2017 Giro d'Italia. He is the brother of track cyclist Juliana Gaviria. His nickname is "Quetzal splendente", from the brightful and colourful South American bird Quetzal. Its colours recall his world championship titles, his Colombia and "la maglia Ciclamino" won at Giro d'Italia. César Gaviria
César Augusto Gaviria Trujillo ( ; born 31 March 1947) is a Colombian economist and politician who served as the President of Colombia from 1990 to 1994, Secretary General of the Organization of American States from 1994 to 2004 and National Director of the Colombian Liberal Party from 2005 to 2009. During his tenure as president, he summoned the Constituent Assembly of Colombia that enacted the Constitution of 1991. Carlos Gaviria Díaz
Carlos Emilio Gaviria Díaz (8 May 1937 – 31 March 2015) was a Colombian lawyer, professor and politician. He served as the 5th Chief Magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Colombia, where he served as a Magistrate from 1993 to 2001. After retiring from the Court, he went into politics becoming a Senator of Colombia in 2002, and running for President as an Alternative Democratic Pole candidate in the 2006 presidential election, ultimately losing to ex-president Álvaro Uribe Vélez, who was seeking his second term in office. Alejandro Gaviria Uribe
Alejandro Gaviria Uribe (born 25 June 1965) is a Colombian economist and engineer, serving as the Minister of National Education of Colombia since 7 August 2022, replacing María Victoria Angulo. He also served as Minister of Health and Social Protection of Colombia from 2012 to 2018. He is the former Rector of the University of Los Andes (Colombia), where he served from 2019 to August of 2021. He was Dean of the School of Economics at University of los Andes in 2006, until his appointment as Minister in 2012. Guillermo Gaviria Correa
Guillermo Gaviria Correa (November 27, 1962, Medellín – May 5, 2003) was the state governor of Antioquia, a province of over 6 million people in northwestern Colombia. Kidnapped by FARC guerrillas during a march against violence on April 21, 2002, he was held captive for over a year deep in the northwestern colombian jungle, bordering between Antioquia and Chocó, until he was killed there by the FARC along with other nine fellow hostages, including the politician and former Minister of defense, Gilberto Echeverri Mejía, in response to an attempted military rescue back on May 5, 2003. Gaviria Correa's letters survived his execution, and were published as ''Diary of a Kidnapped Colombian Governor''. His gubernatorial agenda also survived, carried on by his younger brother Anibal. Simón Gaviria Muñoz (born 24 November 1980) is a Colombian economist and politician currently serving as Member of the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia since 2006. The son of the 28th President of Colombia, César Gaviria, he is also the current National Director of the Colombian Liberal Party since 11 December 2011. Hermán Gaviria Carvajal (27 November 1969 – 24 October 2002) was a Colombian footballer, who played as a central midfielder. Football career During his career, Gaviria played for Atlético Nacional, Deportes Tolima, Deportivo Cali, Atlético Bucaramanga and Shonan Bellmare of the J2 League. Gaviria participated in the football tournament at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, scoring twice, and appeared at three stagings of the Copa América, earning two third-place finishes in the 1993 and 1995 editions. Juliana Gaviria Rendon (born 31 March 1991) is a Colombian track cyclist, born in La Ceja, Antioquia, La Ceja. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's team sprint, Women's team sprint, Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's keirin, women's keirin, and Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's sprint, Women's sprint.
