Garo Baptist Convention
Garo Baptist Convention is a Baptist Christian denomination of India and Bangladesh. It is named after the ethnic group of the name Garo. Most members of this church are in Meghalaya. In Bangladesh the central office of the GBC is located in Birisiri under the suburban area Susong Durgapur of Netrokona District, it was established in the year of 1890. History The Garo Baptist Convention consists of churches planted by the American Baptist missionaries since the mid-19th century in the state of Meghalaya. Garo Baptist Convention is also a member of the Council of Baptist Churches in North-East India or CBCNEI, an umbrella organization of Baptist Churches in North-East India, which has other sister Baptist Associations such as the Nagaland Baptist Church Council, Karbi-Anglong Baptist Convention and Arunachal Baptist Church Council. Evangelicalism (), also called evangelical Christianity or evangelical Protestantism, is a worldwide interdenominational movement within Protestant Christianity that affirms the centrality of being " born again", in which an individual experiences personal conversion; the authority of the Bible as God's revelation to humanity ( biblical inerrancy); and spreading the Christian message. Nagaland Baptist Church Council
The Nagaland Baptist Church Council is a Baptist Christian organization based in Nagaland, India. It is affiliated with the Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India and the Baptist World Alliance. The headquarters is located in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. History The Nagaland Baptist Church Council has its origins in an American mission of the American Baptist Mission (American Baptist Churches USA) in 1839. In the late 19th century, various Baptist congregations in the Naga Hills were organised into associations on tribe and linguistic lines. A broader fellowship of the Baptist churches in the Naga Hills first took the forms of the Naga Hills Baptist Church Advisory Board in Kohima. Born Again
Born again, or to experience the new birth, is a phrase, particularly in evangelicalism, that refers to a "spiritual rebirth", or a regeneration of the human spirit. In contrast to one's physical birth, being "born again" is distinctly and separately caused by baptism in the Holy Spirit, it is not caused by baptism in water. It is a core doctrine of the denominations of the Anabaptist, Moravian, Methodist, Quaker, Baptist, Plymouth Brethren and Pentecostal Churches along with all other evangelical Christian denominations. The Bangladesh Baptist Fellowship (BBF) is a national cooperative association of Baptist churches in Bangladesh. It was formed in 1920 as the East Bengal Baptist Union. The BBF is today the largest Baptist body in Bangladesh.
