Gardenhall is an affluent area of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. Gardenhall is a residential district which lies on the town's south-western edge. East Kilbride
East Kilbride (; gd, Cille Bhrìghde an Ear ) is the largest town in South Lanarkshire in Scotland and the country's sixth-largest locality by population. It was also designated Scotland's first new town on 6 May 1947. The area lies on a raised plateau to the south of the Cathkin Braes, about southeast of Glasgow and close to the boundary with East Renfrewshire. The town ends close to the White Cart Water to the west and is bounded by the Rotten Calder Water to the east. Mossneuk
Mossneuk is a predominantly residential area in the South-West of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. The area has very few facilities within in it, as it is served by shops and conveniences by the nearby areas of Greenhills, Hairmyres and Gardenhall. The area, however, has a community hall, a church and a primary school, care home and a park. Mossneuk is the site of one of South Lanarkshire's 124 primary schools, the eponymous primary school Mossneuk Primary School As of 2011/2012, the school roll is approximately 450. The area also contains one of the town's nine Church of Scotland churches - Mossneuk Parish Church. The church is one of the few Eco-Congregations in South Lanarkshire and the minister, Dr. J. McPake is also the Chaplain to Mossneuk Primary School. Hairmyres
Hairmyres is an area of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, situated on the west side of the town, close to the main road to Eaglesham and Kilmarnock (also with access to the major A726 Queensway/Glasgow South Orbital dual carriageway), and is from the Glasgow City Council boundary at the Carmunnock Bypass and south of the city centre of Glasgow. Falling under the council's East Kilbride West ward, it gives its name to University Hospital Hairmyres, the general hospital for the town and surrounding area which originally opened in 1904, long before development as a designated new town after World War II. It is a relatively modern residential development in the southern half of the town, separating Greenhills from Mossneuk. Its name comes from the former Newlandsmuir Farm, which was demolished during the summer of 2006 after permission was granted for a housing development. The stables and riding school operated at the farm have now moved to Sandford near Strathaven. The area is approximately half a kilometre in diameter, and sits near the town border to the south west.
