Gaolbreak
''Gaolbreak'' is a 1962 British crime film directed by Francis Searle and starring Peter Reynolds, Avice Landone and Carol White. Plot A family of thieves plan a jewellery store robbery. One of them is the safecracking expert, and when he is arrested and jailed, they spring him from prison so he can take part in the job. Production The film was made by Butcher's Film Service, which specialised in producing low-budget supporting films. It was shot at Twickenham Studios in West London, and on location. A collection of then-and-now location stills and corresponding contemporary photographs is hosted at reelstreets.com. The film's sets were designed by the art director Duncan Sutherland. Robert Fyfe
Robert Douglas Fyfe (25 September 1930 – 15 September 2021) was a Scottish actor, best known for his role as Howard in the long-running British sitcom ''Last of the Summer Wine'' from 1985 to 2010. Early life Fyfe was born in Kirkcaldy on 25 September 1930, the son of Douglas Fyfe, a watchmaker, and Mary Fyfe née Irvine. He attended Kirkcaldy High School, before studying English literature at Edinburgh University. He did not complete his degree and instead trained under Esmé Church at the Northern Theatre School in Bradford, graduating in 1954. Whilst studying, he performed in Halifax, York and Scarborough, including appearing in the York Mystery Plays in 1954. David Kernan
David Stanley Kernan (born 23 June 1938) is an English actor and singer, best known as an interpreter of the songs of Stephen Sondheim. He has appeared in stage musicals and was a soloist in British TV variety shows of the 1960s and 1970s including ''That Was the Week That Was'' (1962–3). Career Theatre In 1970 he appeared in the original London production of the musical ''1776 (musical)''. He played the role of Count Malcolm in the original London production of Sondheim's ''A Little Night Music''. Francis Searle (14 March 1909 – 31 July 2002) was an English film director, writer and producer. He was active in the post-Second World War cinema industry. Amongst the films he directed were '' The Lady Craved Excitement'' (1950), '' One Way Out'' (1955) and '' It All Goes to Show'' (1969). Ivor Dean
Ivor Donald Dean (21 December 1917 – 10 August 1974) was a British stage, film and television actor. Biography With his lugubrious demeanour he was often cast as world-weary police officers or butlers, and indeed it is for the role of Chief Inspector Claud Eustace Teal in the 1960s series '' The Saint'', opposite Roger Moore, that he is best remembered. Dean played Teal for almost the entire run of the series, except three instances in early episodes where other actors were used. It was on the third occasion, in an episode called ''Starring The Saint'' which featured Dean in another role, that the producers saw the ideal actor for the part. Dean proved the ideal foil for Moore's Simon Templar, invariably one step behind and allegedly hoping for the day when he could pin something on the Saint. Marianne Stone
Marianne Stone (23 August 1922 – 21 December 2009) was an English character actress. She performed in films from the early 1940s to the late 1980s, typically playing working class parts such as barmaids, secretaries and landladies. Stone appeared in nine of the ''Carry On'' films, and took part in an episode of the '' Carry On Laughing'' television series ("The Case of the Screaming Winkles"). Geoffrey Hibbert (2 June 1922 – 3 February 1969) was an English stage, film and television actor. Robert Desmond (16 December 1922 – 2002) was a British film and television actor of the 1950s and 1960s. He started out in juvenile roles, making his film debut in 1948's '' The Guinea Pig'' opposite Richard Attenborough. Peter Reynolds (actor)
Peter Reynolds (born Peter Gordon Horrocks; 16 August 1921 – 22 April 1975) was an English actor. Career Most of his career was spent in B films, as "the archetypal spiv, unreliable boyfriend, unscrupulous blackmailer, the smoothie ever ready to light a lady's cigarette". He starred in two early films for John Guillermin. He played Hilaire in episode 28 of ''The Adventures of William Tell'', The Avenger (1959). In 1969 Reynolds moved to Australia, where his career gained a second wind. He appeared in over two dozen roles in his first six years there (1969 to 1974, inclusive), mainly on TV. Amongst his appearances was a leading role in the black comedy film ''Private Collection'' (1972). He also appeared in Woodbine cigarette commercials.
