Game Boy Sound System
The Game Boy Sound System (GBS) is a file format containing Nintendo Game Boy sound driver data designed for the Game Boy sound hardware. GBS rips are an arduous task often involving debuggers and compiled assembly code, as there was no uniform sound driver for each Game Boy game. As a result, GBS players and the files themselves emulate just enough of the original hardware and ROM data to play back the music driver and data. The is an 8-bit fourth generation handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan on April 21, 1989, in North America later the same year, and in Europe in late 1990. Audacious is a free and open-source audio player software with a focus on low resource use, high audio quality, and support for a wide range of audio formats. X Multimedia System (XMMS) is an audio player for Unix-like systems released under a free software license. History XMMS was originally written as ''X11Amp'' by Peter and Mikael Alm in November 1997. The SPC file format is a file format for storing spectroscopic data. The SPC file format is a file format in which all kinds of spectroscopic data, including among others infrared spectra, Raman spectra and UV/VIS spectra. The format can be regarded as a database with records of variable length and each record stores a different kind of data (instrumental information, information on one spectrum of a dataset, the spectrum itself or extra logs). It was invented by Galactic Industries as generic file format for its programs. Their original specification was implemented in 1986, but a more versatile format was created in 1996.
