Nanning Wuxu International Airport is an airport serving Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Autonomous Region, China. It is located south-west of the centre of the city. The airport was built in 1962, with improvements made in 1990. Terminal 2, with an area measuring , opened on 25 September 2014. It is designed to handle 16 million passengers annually. The number of passengers reached 1 million in 2002, and jumped to 2 million by 2006. In 2016, 11.56 million passengers used the airport. The Airbus A320neo family is a development of the A320 family of narrow-body airliners produced by Airbus. The A320neo family (''neo'' for "new engine option") is based on the previous A319, A320 and A321 ( enhanced variant), which was then renamed A320ceo, for "current engine option".
