Għarb First
Għarb First (Maltese: ''Għarb l-Ewwel''), is a localist party located in and operating only in Għarb, Gozo, in the Republic of Malta. It was founded by former PN Mayor David Apap Agius to contest the 2019 Maltese local elections. It gained 2 seats out of the 5 total seats in the Għarb Local Council, and 42.86% of the popular vote, narrowly losing the popular vote to PL by 1.95%, or 19 votes. This makes Għarb l-Ewwel the first third party to gain representation in the local level in both the Republic of Malta at-large and on the island of Gozo. This also makes Agius the first mayor of a village that comes from a third party. This was confirmed after a question on who the Mayorship of the Council was solved after the election. Values The party has no known official ideologies. However, the party states in its published party statute that it shall work and endeavour to protect in every legitimate way the interests of the people of Għarb, the wellbeing of Għarb and its comm ...

David Apap Agius
David (; , "beloved one") was a king of ancient Israel and Judah and the third king of the United Monarchy, according to the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament. The Tel Dan stele, an Aramaic-inscribed stone erected by a king of Aram-Damascus in the late 9th/early 8th centuries BCE to commemorate a victory over two enemy kings, contains the phrase (), which is translated as "House of David" by most scholars. The Mesha Stele, erected by King Mesha of Moab in the 9th century BCE, may also refer to the "House of David", although this is disputed. According to Jewish works such as the ''Seder Olam Rabbah'', ''Seder Olam Zutta'', and ''Sefer ha-Qabbalah'' (all written over a thousand years later), David ascended the throne as the king of Judah in 885 BCE. Apart from this, all that is known of David comes from biblical literature, the historicity of which has been extensively challenged,Writing and Rewriting the Story of Solomon in Ancient Israel; by Isaac Kalimi; page 32; Cambr ...

2024 Maltese Local Elections
Local council elections were held in Malta and Gozo on 8 June 2024, in tandem with the European Parliament elections. This is the second time that all local councils of Malta shall be elected simultaneously in a single election, following the 2015 reform abolishing the previous system of half-council elections. Background Previous election The Labour Party won an absolute majority of 268 local council seats and 48 mayoralties in the 2019 local elections, swiping control of several village councils from the Nationalist Party in a wave of electoral successes for said PL, most significant of all being the flip of Siġġiewi from PN to PL. Since the 2019 election, a firm Labour bloc in the central-south regions of Malta can be found. Only ''two'' independents were elected in two councils in Malta and Gozo. Steven Zammit Lupi was elected to the Żebbuġ local council in Malta, and Nicky Saliba, ex-PN mayor of Żebbuġ in Gozo, was elected as an independent and managed to deadl ...

He was a service apostle of Ta' Pinu, Our Lady of Ta' Pinu. Early life Frenċ tal-Għarb was born on 3 December 1892. He was one of twelve children born to Salvu Mercieca and Angelica. His primary education came to a halt at the age of twelve years because ''"his father required his services in the fields from dusk till dawn''." In 1917, his father died at the age of 75. Some members of Frenċ's family emigrated, whilst others got married. Frenċ was influenced by the kind-hearted and pious character of his mother.
