The Guardians of the Universe are a race of extraterrestrial superhero characters appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Green Lantern. They first appeared in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 2) #1 (July 1960), and were created by John Broome and Gil Kane. The Guardians of the Universe have been adapted to a number of films, television programs, and video games. The Guardians of the Universe are the founders and leaders of the interstellar law enforcement agency known as the Green Lantern Corps, which they administer from their homeworld Oa at the center of the Universe. The Guardians resemble short humans with blue skin and white hair. They are depicted as being immortal and are the oldest living beings created in the Universe. Jamal Yaseem Igle is an American comic book artist, editor, art director, marketing executive and animation storyboard artist. The creator of the comic book series ''Molly Danger'' he is also known for his pencilling, inking and coloring work on books such as ''Supergirl'', '' The Ray'', and ''Firestorm''. Psion (comics)
The Psions are a fictional extraterrestrial species in the DC Universe. The Psions first appeared in ''Tales of the New Teen Titans'' (vol. 1) #4 (September 1982) and were created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. The earliest uncredited appearance of the Psions was in ''The Witching Hour (DC Comics), The Witching Hour'' #13 (March 1971), written by Wolfman. Fictional biography Origins The Psions are originally lizard-like aliens on the planet Maltus before being enhanced by the Maltusians. After the Maltusians leave, the Psions investigate their labs and mimic their creators, cutting off their tails to look more like them. After several millennia, the Psions leave Maltus to reunite with their creators, now known as the Guardians of the Universe. "Emerald Twilight" is a 1994 comic book story told in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 3) #48–50, written by Ron Marz, drawn by Darryl Banks and published by DC Comics. Alan Ladd Wellington Scott is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, and the first character to bear the name Green Lantern. He fights evil with the aid of his mystical ring, which grants him a variety of powers. He was created by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger, first appearing in the comic book ''All-American Comics'' #16, published on July 10, 1940. Alan Scott was created after Nodell became inspired by the characters from Greek, Norse, and Middle Eastern myths and tales, including Aladdin from ''One Thousand and One Nights'', and sought to create a popular entertainment character who fought evil with the aid of a magic ring that grants him various supernatural powers.
