Gualtiero Bassetti
Gualtiero Bassetti (born 7 April 1942) is an Italian Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Perugia-Città della Pieve from 2009 to 2022. He has been a bishop since 1994 and was made a cardinal in 2014. He was president of the Italian Episcopal Conference from 2017 to 2022. Gualtiero Calboli (born 3 January 1932) is an Italian classicist and linguist. He is Emeritus Chair of Latin Language and Literature at the University of Bologna, in Italy. He was appointed to a chair in 1973. From 1982 to 2000 he was head of the Department of Classical and Medieval Philology. Gualtiero Jacopetti (; 4 September 1919 – 17 August 2011) was an Italian documentary film director. With Paolo Cavara and Franco Prosperi, he is considered the originator of ''mondo films'', also called "shockumentaries". Early life Gualtiero Jacopetti was born in Barga, in Northern Tuscany, in 1919. During World War II, he served in the Italian Resistance to fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. Gualtiero Marchesi (; 19 March 1930 – 26 December 2017) was an Italian chef, considered the founder of Italian '' nouvelle cuisine''. Biography Marchesi was born in Milan, Italy. His parents ran the hotel and restaurant "L'Albergo del Mercato" in Via Bezzecca. It was here that he had his first experiences in the kitchen. Two of his relatives, Luigi Ghisoni—who had been a chef at the Ritz, Madeira, before he joined Marchesi's father running the business—and Domenico Bergamaschi, chef at Albergo del Mercato, were major influences on Marchesi. Gualtiero Negrini (born January 24, 1961) is an American singer of Irish-Italian heritage. Origins Gualtiero Negrini was born to Luciano Negrini (a former Catholic Priest and Bass (vocal range), bass opera singer from Milano, Italy), and Clare Negrini, Clare Mary Negrini (née Young, an Irish-American mezzo-soprano opera singer from Chicago). His great uncle, the tenor Carlo Negrini, created the role of Gabriele Adorno for Giuseppe Verdi, in the premiere of Simon Boccanegra in Venice in 1857. Gualtiero Tumiati ( 8 May 1876 – 23 April 1971) was an Italian actor and stage director. Life and career Born in Ferrara, Tumiati studied at the College of the Oaks in Florence and there he attended the acting courses held by Luigi Rasi. He later graduated in law and while working as an apprentice lawyer at his father's law firm he started performing in some local stage companies. Tumiati's breakout role was Cyrano de Bergerac in a critically acclaimed representation of the Edmond Rostand's eponymous play held in 1910. Walter of Palear (or Palearia, also Gualtiero da Pagliaria; died 1229 or 1231) was the chancellor of the Kingdom of Sicily under Queen Constance and the Emperor Henry VI.
