''Ground Zero: Texas'' is a full motion video game, released for the Sega CD in November 1993.Peter M. Nichols: Home Video.'' In: New York Times, December 10, 1993. The game relies heavily on video footage, with which the player interacts. It contains 110 minutes of interactive footage from four different cameras. It was directed by Dwight H. Little, who is also known for the films ''Marked for Death'' and '' Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers''. Plot In 1995, aliens known as Reticulans attacked El Cadron, a small border town in Texas. The player has arrived to save the townspeople, who have been disappearing. The aliens have clever ways of disguising themselves as townspeople. The player's mission is to do away with the Reticulans, but they cannot be killed with regular guns. The player is armed with four BattleCams, with a stunning particle beam that stops the alien temporarily. Tom Zito
Digital Pictures was an American video game developer founded in 1991 by Lode Coen, Mark Klein, Ken Melville, Anne Flaut-Reed, Kevin Welsh and Tom Zito. The company originated from an attempt to produce a game for the cancelled VHS-based NEMO game system. One of its first titles, ''Night Trap'', was originally produced as a title for the NEMO, before being converted for use with Sega's new Sega CD. The mature-themed content of ''Night Trap'' made it the source of some controversy. Nevertheless, the title was a bestseller. Digital Pictures went on to create other full motion video-based titles primarily for Sega hardware, and are regarded as a pioneer of the interactive movie genre. The company declined in the mid-1990s due to waning interest in full motion video games. Its final title, '' Maximum Surge'', went unreleased and was later repurposed into a film called ''Game Over''.
