Grim (film)
''Grim'' is a 1996 horror film directed by Paul Matthews and was his directorial debut. Plot One evening a group of friends, Katie, Steve, Trish, and Sarah gather to play with a spirit board. During the encounter Katie is possessed by a supernatural creature that has been imprisoned in the cave systems lying underneath the town of Woodland Hills, Virginia. Known as the Grim, the creature forces the possessed Katie into verbally granting it freedom. Now free to do as it pleases, the creature begins to magically travel under the town and attack various animals, as well as kidnap a random woman, Mary. His activity causes sinkholes to form, which almost all of the townspeople assume this is the result of a nearby mining company trying to expand their tunnels. The only ones who question this is Katie and her friend Steve, who are certain that they are tied to the other night's events. Paul Matthews (filmmaker)
Paul Matthews (born 1957) is a British film producer, writer, and director. Career Prior to getting involved in film, Matthews worked for 12 years as a concrete molder while using his off hours to build connections with people in film production as well as writing scripts. Matthews' first foray into film making came about when he wrote the script ''The Christmas Stallion'' and with the help of his older sister and former solicitor, Liz, managed to attract the interest of Welsh language free-to-air public broadcast television channel S4C to produce the film for £1 million shooting it in both Welsh and English. ''The Christmas Stallion'' would end up being the first project Matthews' production company Peakviewing Transatlantic which he founded with the help of his retired father and siblings. ''The Descent'' is a 2005 British horror film written and directed by Neil Marshall. Kadamba Simmons (7 May 1974 – 13/14 June 1998) was a British actress and model. Simons had appeared in advertisements for the brands Martini and Pantene.
