Greg Petersen
Greg Petersen is an American soccer coach (sports), coach. Player Petersen attended CSU East Bay where he played as goalkeeper (football), goalkeeper on the men's soccer team. In 1984, he was named to the First Team All Conference team. Coach In 1990, Petersen became an assistant coach with the Stanford Cardinal soccer team. In 1994, he was hired as head coach of the expansion CCV Hydra of the USISL. He moved to the Monterey Bay Jaguars in 1995, before he joined the Reno Rattlers. In 1997, the Nashville Metros of the USISL A-League hired Petersen. In 1998, the Metros went to the quarterfinals of the 1998 U.S. Open Cup, U.S. Open Cup. On November 3, 1999, the El Paso Patriots offered Petersen the head coaching position, which he took for a season. In 2003, he was hired by the Des Moines Menace. An athletic coach is a person coaching in sport, involved in the direction, instruction, and training of a sports team or athlete. The United States Interregional Soccer League (USISL) was a semi-professional men's outdoor soccer league that played six seasons from 1989 to 1994. It was the first outdoor league to be operated by the organization known today as the United Soccer League. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The league's motto is "A National League with a Regional Focus". Competition format The National Premier Soccer League is divided into four separate regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, and West). Ajax Orlando Prospects was an American soccer club based in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 2002. the team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2006, when the team left the league and the franchise was terminated. USISL A-League
The USL First Division (USL-1) was a professional men's soccer league in the second tier of the United States league system. It was organized by the United Soccer League as its premier league for men from 1996 to 2010, above the USL Second Division. It began in the 1996 season as the Select League – consisting 21 of the league's best third-tier clubs. It soon merged with the American Professional Soccer League to become the A-League in the 1997 season. It adopted its final name in the 2005 season, following a restructure of the USL.
