Greg DiCenzo
Greg DiCenzo (born October 25, 1975) is a professional baseball coach and former football, soccer, and baseball player at St. Lawrence University. He is currently manager of the Akron RubberDucks, the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously the head baseball coach at the College of the Holy Cross from 2008 to 2019. Early life DiCenzo attended Duxbury High School where he was a four-year starter on both the varsity soccer and varsity baseball teams, while a two-year member of the varsity basketball team. DiCenzo played for legendary coach Foster Cass. Upon graduation, DiCenzo enrolled at St. Lawrence University, where he played for the football, men's soccer and baseball teams. In four seasons on the baseball team, he competed as a pitcher, a first-baseman, and an outfielder. Lake County Captains
The Lake County Captains are a Minor League Baseball team in Eastlake, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, that plays in the Midwest League as the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The Captains joined the Class A Midwest League following the 2009 season in a shuffle caused by the Columbus Catfish's move to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the 2009 season. The move alleviated travel costs and time, as it was the South Atlantic League's northernmost team. Before the 2003 season, the club was based in Columbus, Georgia, and known as the Columbus RedStixx. The Captains play their home games in Classic Auto Group Park, which has a capacity of 6,157 and opened in 2003 as Eastlake Stadium. The current stadium name results from a naming rights arrangement; the sponsor is Classic Automotive Group, a significant area chain of auto dealerships. Midwest League
The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The Midwest League began as the Illinois State League (1947–1948) and then became the Mississippi–Ohio Valley League (1949–1955). In 1956, the Mississippi–Ohio Valley League was renamed the Midwest League. The circuit temporarily operated for the 2021 season as the High-A Central before reassuming its original moniker in 2022. The Lansing Lugnuts and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers franchises jointly have won the most Midwest League championships, with nine each.
