Grand Rapids Flight
The Grand Rapids Flight were a team in the International Basketball League based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Flight underwent a office change in 2007 when David Fox took over the roles of General manager and Head Coach from founder Tyler Whitcomb. The team was owned by the Grand Rapids Junior Jammers Youth Foundation from 2008–2010, a non-profit based in Grand Rapids, Michigan founded by David Fox. The team's Head Coach David Fox, coached the team for three seasons, and in his third season was the longest running tenured head coach in the IBL. On the court, the team was a solid success in 2006, reaching the Final Four. The Grand Rapids Flight at one time held the record for most points scored in a single game, after a 179–146 drubbing of the Des Moines Heat. The Flight helped to set the record for single game attendance against the Elkhart Express in 2007 as over 5,200 attended the game, many to see Sun Ming Ming. Grand Rapids Hoops
The Grand Rapids Hoops were a basketball team that played in the Continental Basketball Association based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their first season was in 1989 and their final season was in 2003. Professional basketball later returned to Grand Rapids with the Grand Rapids Flight in 2004. League history The team started and played in the Continental Basketball Association until the league folded in 2001. They joined the International Basketball League for one season before returning to a resurrected CBA the following year where they stayed until their demise. Micah Lancaster (born February 20, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player and current sports trainer, specializing in basketball skill development. High school career Lancaster began his Comstock Park High School basketball career as a freshman on junior varsity. As a sophomore, Lancaster played in one varsity game. The International Basketball League (IBL) was a semi-professional men's basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. In 2010 the Albany Legends became the first team in the Northeastern United States to join. The IBL also sometimes featured teams from China and Japan which temporarily relocated to the United States for the IBL season. The IBL season typically ran from the end of March through July.
