Grace Kim (tennis)
Grace Kim (born April 16, 1968) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Kim grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey but was born in South Korea. She twice made the third round of the US Open, the first time in 1983 was as a 15-year old. Turning professional in 1984, she was a quarter-finalist that year at the Canadian Open, which included a win over Kathy Horvath. At the 1985 US Open she reached the third round again by beating Bettina Bunge and Mary-Lou Piatek, before falling to top seed Chris Evert. One of her biggest wins came in 1986 when she defeated Gabriela Sabatini Gabriela Beatriz Sabatini (; born 16 May 1970) is an Argentine former professional tennis player. Christine Marie Evert (born December 21, 1954) is an American former professional tennis player. One of the most successful players of all time, she was ranked as the world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for 260 weeks ( fourth-most of all time), and finished as the year-end No. 1 seven times: 1974-1978, 1980 and 1981. Evert won 157 singles titles, including 18 majors (among which a record seven French Open titles and a joint-record six US Open titles). Alongside Martina Navratilova, her greatest rival, Evert dominated women's tennis from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. The publication's origins date back to 1884, but the paper took on its current name after a consolidation of two separate titles in 1929.
