Goodbye Blues
''Goodbye Blues'' is the third album by The Hush Sound. It was released March 18, 2008 on Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance and later debuted at #75 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 selling over 11,200 copies. The next week the album fell to #163. Background The band's third studio album, ''Goodbye Blues'', was named one of the Most Anticipated Albums of 2008 by Alternative Press (music magazine), Alternative Press. The album was recorded in the fall of 2007 at North Hollywood's Fairfax Recordings with producer/engineer Kevin Augunas (Cold War Kids, Jon Brion) at the helm. With tracks such as "Honey" and "Medicine Man", The Hush Sound shows influence of blues, swing, and folk. The album is different than the band's last two albums, as Greta Salpeter takes over lead vocals on nine of the thirteen tracks. The Hush Sound
The Hush Sound is an American indie pop band from Chicago, Illinois, United States. Initially named "The Hush," the band later changed its name to "The Hush Sound" due to the discovery of a rapper with the same name. The band consists of Bob Morris (vocals and guitar), Chris Faller (bass guitar and vocals), Darren Wilson (drums, percussion and vocals), and Greta Salpeter (vocals and piano). Mike Leblanc (bass guitar) temporarily replaced Faller after he left the band for a few months in 2008 . In 2005, the band released their first studio album, '' So Sudden,'' independently, which was later rereleased through Decaydance Records and Fueled by Ramen. Their second studio album, '' Like Vines'', was released in 2006 under the independent record label, Fueled by Ramen. Piano
The piano is a stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). Backing Vocalist
A backing vocalist is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. Chris Faller
Chris Faller (born 1 May 1985 in Buffalo, NY) is the bassist of The Hush Sound and Company of Thieves. Faller provides vocals as well, along with bandmates Greta Salpeter Greta Morgan Salpeter (born February 12, 1988), better known as Greta Morgan, is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. Her career began in 2005 as singer/pianist of the Chicago-based band The Hush Sound. She later ..., Robert Morris, and Darren Wilson. Faller joined the band last after much persuasion from drummer Darren Wilson, and since then The Hush Sound has been signed by Fueled By Ramen. Butch Walker
Bradley Glenn "Butch" Walker (born November 14, 1969) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was the lead guitarist for the glam metal band SouthGang from the late 1980s to early 1990s as well as the lead vocalist and guitarist for rock band Marvelous 3 from 1997 until 2001. Career SouthGang Walker grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, working as a guitarist and performer in several rock bands in the 1980s, including Badd Boyz and Byte the Bullet. Byte the Bullet moved to Los Angeles in 1988 and were signed to Virgin Records within the year. The band then changed their name to SouthGang and released two albums, ''Tainted Angel'' in 1991 and ''Group Therapy'' in 1992. Darren Wilson is drummer of the Chicago-based indie-rock group The Hush Sound. He plays alongside bandmates, Wilson was a member of the band Until Sundown along with Chris Faller, until they were both recruited to play join The Hush Sound in late 2004/early 2005. In late-July through mid-August 2009, Wilson played drums with Mark Rose (formerly of Spitalfield Spitalfield was an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois signed to Victory Records.
