Gitorious was a free and open source web application for hosting collaborative free and open-source software development projects using Git revision control. According to the Git User's Survey, Gitorious was the second most popular hosting service for Git in 2011, with 11.7% of respondents indicating they used it, behind 87.5% using GitHub.
