Getty Family
The Getty family of the United States began with George Getty, George Franklin Getty and his son J. Paul Getty, Jean Paul Getty as their patriarchs. In the 20th century, they were heavily involved in the petroleum industry and in mass media. The Getty family is of Scots-Irish American, Scots-Irish ancestry from their patrilineal lineage, their ancestors having immigrated to North America from Cullavmor, County Londonderry, Ireland (today in Northern Ireland). Several members of the Getty family have lived in England, including John Paul Getty Jr., Sir Paul Getty who took British citizenship. Jacqueline Marie Manewal Riordan Getty Phillips (May 9, 1931 – January 21, 1992) was an American socialite and racehorse owner. Domitilla Harding (formerly Getty) is an Italian designer and artist. Early life Domitilla Harding was born and raised in Rome. She is the daughter of John Harding, publisher, author and screenwriter, and '' Donna'' Lavinia Lante della Rovere. Michael Charles Gauntlet Wilding (23 July 1912 – 8 July 1979) was an English stage, television, and film actor. John Paul Getty III (; born Eugene Paul Getty II; November 4, 1956February 5, 2011) was the grandson of American oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, who was once the richest man in the world. While living in Rome in 1973, he was kidnapped by the 'Ndrangheta and held for a $17 million ransom.
