George F. Perpich
George F. Perpich (September 2, 1933 – September 26, 2018) was an American dentist and politician. Born in Carson Lake, Minnesota, Perpich graduated from Hibbing High School in 1951 and from University of Minnesota Duluth in 1955. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957. In 1961, Perpich received his degree in dentistry from University of Minnesota. He was a dentist in Chisholm, Minnesota. From 1971 to 1980, Perpich served in the Minnesota State Senate and was a Democrat. His brothers Anthony "Tony" J. Perpich and Rudy Perpich also served in the Minnesota Senate. Rudy served as governor of Minnesota from 1976 to 1978 and from 1983 to 1990. His brother Joseph Perpich is married to Cathy Sulzberger, daughter of Arthur Ochs Sulzberger. Carson Lake, Minnesota
Hibbing is a city in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 16,214 at the 2020 census. The city was built on mining the rich iron ore of the Mesabi Iron Range and still relies on that industrial activity today. At the edge of town is the world's largest open-pit iron mine, the Hull–Rust–Mahoning Open Pit Iron Mine. It is the hometown of famous singer Bob Dylan and former Governor of Minnesota Rudy Perpich. Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's disease (PD), or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common. The most obvious early symptoms are tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking. Cognitive and behavioral problems may also occur with Depression (mood), depression, anxiety, and apathy occurring in many people with PD. Parkinson's disease dementia becomes common in the advanced stages of the disease. Those with Parkinson's can also have problems with their sleep and sensory systems. The motor symptoms of the disease result from the death of cells in the substantia nigra, a region of the midbrain, leading to a dopamine deficit.
