General Than Shwe
Than Shwe ( my, သန်းရွှေ, ; born 2 February 1933 or 3 May 1935) is a Burmese strongman politician who was the head of state of Myanmar from 1992 to 2011 as Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC). During this period, he held key positions of power including Prime Minister of Myanmar, Commander-in-chief of Myanmar Defense Services and head of the Union Solidarity and Development Association. In March 2011 he officially stepped down as head of state in favour of his hand-picked successor, Thein Sein, and as head of the Armed Forces, being replaced by general Min Aung Hlaing. He continues to retain great power in the military. Early life Than Shwe was born in Minzu village, near Kyaukse, British Burma in 1933 or 1935. Senior General (Myanmar)
Senior general ( my, ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မှူးကြီး) is the highest rank in Myanmar Armed Forces. It is held by the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (CinCDS). Since 2011, a person appointed as CinCDS has to be quickly promoted one higher rank every year until he get the rank of Senior general. The rank insignia of Senior general is with a big star surrounded by a flower branch and with four small stars. Its rank medal and car insignia show that it is the five-star general rank, and the flag of CinCDS confirms it. The rank of Senior general is two ranks higher than that of a General (a full General), but in terms of stars, the Senior general has only one more star than the General. Nay Shwe Thway Aung ( my, နေရွှေသွေးအောင်; born 22 May 1991), also known as Phoe La Pyae ( my, ဖိုးလပြည့်; ) is a Burmese public figure and a business tycoon, who is the grandson of Senior General Than Shwe, Myanmar's dictator and former head of a military junta. Company Commander
A company commander is the commanding officer of a company, a military unit which typically consists of 100 to 250 soldiers, often organized into three or four smaller units called platoons. ''Squad Leader'' is a tactical level board war game originally published by Avalon Hill in 1977. It was designed by John Hill and simulates on infantry combat in Europe during World War II. Second lieutenant is a junior commissioned officer military rank in many armed forces, comparable to NATO OF-1 rank. Australia The rank of second lieutenant existed in the military forces of the Australian colonies and Australian Army until 1986. Meiktila (; ) is a city in central Burma on the banks of Meiktila Lake in the Mandalay Region at the junctions of the Bagan-Taunggyi, Yangon-Mandalay and Meiktila-Myingyan highways. The Union Solidarity and Development Association ( ; abbreviated USDA) was a Burmese political party founded with the active aid of Myanmar's ruling military junta, the State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC), on 15 September 1993. History The Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), formed on 29 March 2010, took part in the 2010 elections.
