Geet (1992 Film)
''Geet'' () is a 1992 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Partho Ghosh. The film stars Avinash Wadhawan and Divya Bharti in lead roles. Shakti Kapoor, Laxmikant Berde play supporting roles. Plot The movie depicts Rajesh Tripathi (Avinash Wadhawan) living in poverty with his widowed father, Shivshankar. Rajesh left his village to study in Mumbai where he becomes a fan of singer and dancer Neha (Divya Bharti) of whom he paints hoardings. Neha's manager, Hari Saxena (Shakti Kapoor), harasses her, but she refuses his advances and slaps him. Angered Hari then calls another singer to replace Neha and secretly puts vermilion (''sindoor'') in ''laddoos'' and gives them to Neha. In the middle of the show, Neha's voice becomes rough due to the vermillion. Her doctor deems her unable to continue singing. Partho Ghosh (8 June 1949 9 June 2025) was an Indian film director and producer of Bollywood. He also directed Bengali films. His successful films include '' 100 Days'' with Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit and '' Teesra Kaun'' with Mithun Chakraborty. He was known for the films ''Dalaal'' (1993) and '' Agni Sakshi'' (1996) with Nana Patekar. Career Ghosh started his career in Hindi cinema as an assistant director with small films (1985). Reshma (; c. 1947 – 3 November 2013), was a Pakistani folk singer. Awarded with Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Distinction), the third highest honour and civilian award in Pakistan among other honours, she is remembered for folk songs and her powerful singing voice. Born in Rajasthan, India in a nomadic Banjara household in 1947, her family relocated to Karachi after the Partition of India.
