Gaby Lewis
Gaby Hollis Lewis (born 27 March 2001) is an Irish international cricketer who made her senior debut for the Irish national team in July 2014, aged only 13. She made her Twenty20 International (T20I) debut later in the year, becoming the youngest to play at that level. The International Cricket Council (ICC) named Lewis as one of the five breakout stars in women's cricket in 2018. She currently captains the Women's Super Series team Scorchers. In June 2022, at the age of 21, Lewis became the youngest player to captain the Ireland Women's team in international cricket. Early life Lewis was born in Dublin. Her older sister, Robyn Lewis, has played alongside her both at club and national level, while her father, Alan Lewis, and grandfather, Ian Lewis, both represented the Irish men's side. The Hundred (cricket)
The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men's and eight women's teams located in major cities across England and Wales. The tournament is run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and took place for the first time in July and August 2021. The format was invented with the expectation that each match lasts around two-and-a-half hours. The BBC showed free-to-air broadcasts of the competition, while all of the women's matches and some of the men's matches were available to stream for free on Sky Sports' YouTube channel. 2020 Women's Super Series
The 2020 Women's Super Series was the sixth Women's Super Series competition that took place in Ireland. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in May and June with 3 teams taking part, but was delayed and restructured due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament eventually took place in August and September, with two teams taking part (Scorchers (women's cricket), Scorchers and Typhoons (women's cricket), Typhoons, with Dragons (women's cricket), Dragons leaving the competition) and eight Limited overs cricket, 50 over matches taking place. Clare Mary Alice Shillington (born 8 January 1981) is an Irish former cricketer and the current coach of Typhoons. She played as a right-handed batter and appeared in 1 Test match, 90 One Day Internationals and 56 Twenty20 Internationals for Ireland between 1997 and 2018. She played in her final match for Ireland in November 2018, during the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 tournament. The Women's European Cricket Championship is a women's cricket tournament for teams representing European countries. The first edition was contested in 1989. History The first Women's European Championship was held in Denmark in July 1989. The teams that took part were England, Ireland and the Netherlands in addition to the hosts Denmark. England won all three of their matches, with the other teams winning one match each. England thus won the tournament. All matches were official Women's One-Day Internationals and Denmark's match against Ireland was their first such game.
