The Georgia Tech Cable Network (GTCN) was the on-campus television provider of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Established in 1995, GTCN served the on-campus buildings, especially Georgia Tech Housing. Content They had a 123-channel lineup, 24 of which were HD, and two of which (channels 20 and 21) they generate content for themselves. In particular, they had a show called "Ramblin' Research" that showed professors' research and personal interests. In addition, they showed many recent movies. The network was also part of the Georgia Tech emergency notification system. WREK-FM
WREK (91.1 FM "Wreck", from the Ramblin' Wreck) is the radio station staffed by the students of the Georgia Institute of Technology. It is also located on channel 17 on the Georgia Tech cable TV network, GTCN. Starting as a 10-watt class D, WREK currently broadcasts a 100,000-watt ERP signal throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area, making it among the ten highest-powered college radio stations in the United States. In 2007, WREK applied to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to increase its effective radiated power to the maximum power of 100,000 watts (from its former 40,000 watts) with a directional antenna pattern designed to avoid interference with specific distant stations (as required). This coverage increase was designed to greatly improve the radio station's coverage to encompass more of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Technique
The ''Technique'', also known as the "''Nique''", is the official student newspaper of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, and has referred to itself as "the South's liveliest college newspaper" since 1945. As of the fall semester of 2011, the ''Technique'' has a weekly circulation of 10,000, distributed to numerous locations on the Georgia Tech campus and a handful of locations in the surrounding area. The first issue of the ''Technique'' was published on November 17, 1911, and the paper has printed continuously since its founding. The paper publishes weekly throughout the regular school year and primarily covers news, events and issues specific to the Georgia Tech community.
