GNC1
GNC1 was the premier class in the 2015-16 AMA Grand National Championship for professional motorcycle flat track racing in the United States. The GNC1 class debuted in the 2015 season, replacing the previous ''Expert'' division and combining both singles and twins events in a unified championship. In GNC1, twin-cylinder motorcycles were the primary machines and were used for Mile and Half-Mile circuits while single-cylinder motorcycles were used for Short Track and TT events. Since 2017 the GNC1 class has been replaced by the new ''AFT Twins'' class, featuring twin-cylinder motorcycles at all events. Indian Scout FTR750
The Indian Scout FTR750 is a competition-only motorcycle engine made by Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company for flat track racing. It is a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-valve-per-cylinder V-twin. A single-pin crankshaft riding on plain bearings carries side-by-side steel connecting rods. AMA Grand National Championship
American Flat Track is an American motorcycle racing series. The racing series, founded and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1954, originally encompassed five distinct forms of competitions including mile dirt track races, half-mile, short-track, TT steeplechase and road races. The championship was the premier motorcycle racing series in the United States from the 1950s up until the late 1970s. Following the 2016 season, AMA Pro Racing, the sanctioning body of the series, announced a restructured class system as well as a re-envisioning of the event format. The Harley-Davidson XR-750 is a racing motorcycle made by Harley-Davidson since 1970, primarily for dirt track racing, but also for road racing in the XRTT variant. The XR-750 was designed in response to a 1969 change in AMA Grand National Championship rules that leveled the playing field for makes other than Harley-Davidson, allowing Japanese and British motorcycles to outperform the previously dominant Harley-Davidson KR race bike. The XR-750 went on to win the most races in the history of American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) racing. The XR-750 is associated with the careers of racers Mark Brelsford, Cal Rayborn, and Jay Springsteen, and was the favorite motorcycle of stunt performer Evel Knievel. Yamaha TDM850
The Yamaha TDM is an 849 cc DOHC parallel-twin motorcycle that heralded the modern "Sport touring" category. The TDM was first manufactured by the Yamaha Motor Company of Japan in 1991. The TDM has a pressed-steel frame and a dry sump engine with five valves per cylinder, (three inlet and two exhaust). History The TDM was arguably the first road-oriented "Adventure Sports" motorcycle. It was not intended as an off-road machine, but as a comfortable yet manoeuvrable all-rounder, rather like the Ducati Multistrada of later years. A TDM is too bulky and heavy for serious off-road work, but its long-travel suspension can cope with gravel tracks. Suzuki SV1000
The Suzuki SV1000 and the half-faired SV1000S are naked bike motorcycles made by Suzuki since 2003. The displacement 90° V-twin motorcycles were aimed to compete directly with the Honda VTR1000F (also known as the SuperHawk or FireStorm, depending on the market), which was released prior to the Suzuki, and the low end Ducati one-litre V-twin engined sport bikes. Track racing is a form of motorcycle racing where teams or individuals race opponents around an unpaved oval track. There are differing variants, with each variant racing on a different surface type. The most common variant is Speedway which has many professional domestic and international competitions in a number of countries. BMW F Series Parallel-twin
The BMW F series is a family of parallel-twin engine dual-sport motorcycles manufactured in Berlin, Germany by BMW Motorrad. Launched in 2008, the range comprises the F650GS, F700GS'', ''F800GS, and F800GSA. In 2012, the F700GS replaced the discontinued F650GS, and in 2013, the F800GSA was introduced with a fuel tank and a larger front fairing and screen. The F800GT and F800S both have belt drive.
