G-Nome Project
G-Nome Project is an American-Israeli livetronica group formed in Jerusalem in 2012. History The band was formed in November 2012 in Jerusalem. Guitarist Yakir Hyman and bassist Zechariah Reich grew up together in Teaneck, New Jersey, and played their first concert together at Teaneck High School with Jon Shiffman of Steel Train. Chemy Soibelman was the original drummer for the New York pop punk band The Groggers, performing on their debut album, ''There's No 'I' in Cherem''. Hyman and Reich are both former members of the Israeli rock band Hamakor, with whom Soibelman and Langer occasionally played until their disbandment in 2015. In 2014, the band used Indiegogo to fund their first American tour, the eleven-city Giving Tour, during which the band alternated nightly performances with charitable acts such as visiting nursing homes and volunteering at soup kitchens. Norridgewock is a town in Somerset County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,278 at the 2020 census. History Native Americans Situated on the New England and Acadia border, which New France defined as the Kennebec River, the area was once territory of the Norridgewock Indians, a band of the Abenaki nation. Their village was located at Old Point, now part of Madison. English colonists suspected Father Sebastien Rale (or Rasle), the French missionary at the village since 1694, of abetting tribal hostilities against British settlements during the French and Indian Wars. During Father Rale's War, soldiers left Fort Richmond (now Richmond) in whaleboats until they reached Taconic Falls (now Winslow), then marched quietly to Norridgewock Village, arriving on August 23, 1724. Purim (; , ; see Name below) is a Jewish holiday which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, an official of the Achaemenid Empire who was planning to have all of Persia's Jewish subjects killed, as recounted in the Book of Esther (usually dated to the 5th century BCE). Lotus is an instrumental electronic jam band formed in Indiana in 1999 now based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Denver, Colorado. History Lotus was formed at Goshen College in August 1998 by Steve Clemens, Luke Miller, Mike Rempel, Andy Parada, and Joel Jimenez, with the first live show occurring on September 25, 1998. The band's more permanent lineup coalesced in 1999. Lucas MacFadden (born October 4, 1972), better known as Cut Chemist, is an American DJ and record producer. He is a former member of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli. He has collaborated with DJ Shadow on a number of projects. Early life Cut Chemist graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 1997. Cut Chemist also attended Glendale Community College and took several drawing and life drawing classes in the early 1990's. Career Cut Chemist became known through the Los Angeles-based rap group Unity Committee. The group merged with another group, Rebels of Rhythm, to form Jurassic 5. Joe Russo's Almost Dead is an American rock band formed in 2013 that mainly covers the music of the Grateful Dead. Formed by Furthur and Benevento/Russo Duo drummer Joe Russo, the band played their first show on January 26, 2013 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, New York. Lettuce is a funk band that originated in Boston, Massachusetts in 1992. Its members are guitarist Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff, Nigel Hall (keyboards, Hammond B-3 organ, piano, vocals), Adam Deitch (drums/percussion), Erick "Jesus" Coomes (bass), Ryan Zoidis (saxophone) and Eric "Benny" Bloom (trumpet). History Lettuce began in the summer of 1992, when all of its members attended a music program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA as teenagers.
