''Fíaskó'' (English title: ''Fiasco'') is an Icelandic film written and directed by Ragnar Bragason and released in 2000. Synopsis The film is divided into three chapters and looks at three generations of a family living under one roof in Reykjavík. The first part focuses on pensioner Karl Barðdal. The second is about his granddaughter, Júlía Barðdal. The third part deals with Steingerður Barðdal and her relationship with the preacher Samúel. Ragnar Bragason
Ragnar Bragason (born 15 September 1971) is an Icelandic film director, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Droplaug was born in Súðavík, Iceland. He is best known for his films '' Börn'' (''Children'') and '' Foreldrar'' (''Parents''), both Edda Award winners, and the popular TV series '' Næturvaktin'' (''The Night Shift''), '' Dagvaktin'' (''The Day Shift''), and '' Fangavaktin'' (''The Prison Shift''). Ragnar grew up in the village of Súðavík, in a family of fishermen and farmers. He got his start making short videos in college. After directing many music videos, shorts and documentaries, he released his first feature-film '' Fíaskó'' (''Fiasco'') in 2000. Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (born 13 March 1973) is an Icelandic-American actor, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for ''Children'', '' Trapped'', '' The Deep'', '' Lady Dynamite'', and ''The Secret Life of Walter Mitty''. Early life Ólafur was born to Icelandic parents in Connecticut, United States, where his father studied medicine. His family returned to Iceland when he was around four years old. Barði Jóhannsson (born 10 September 1975) is an Icelandic musician, composer, writer, TV show host (of the surrealist Icelandic TV show ''Konfekt''), clothing designer and film director. He is mostly known for his work with the groups Bang Gang, Lady & Bird (a side project with Keren Ann) and Starwalker, a collaboration with Jean-Benoît Dunckel. In addition to these musical outlets, Barði has been involved in a number of other audio-visual projects. Friðrik Þór Friðriksson (born 12 May 1954; pronounced ), sometimes credited as Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, is an Icelandic film director and producer. Biography Fridriksson started his film making career with experimental films and documentaries in the early 1980s. In 1987, he founded The Icelandic Film Corporation that became Iceland's most important film production company.
