Futurecop!
Futurecop! are Manzur Iqbal and Peter Carrol, British cinematic and electronic composers. Life and career Musical career Manzur and Peter met at university, where they were enrolled in the same course. Even though Manzur was an outcast and Peter was part of the popular crowd, their love of 1980s/90s memorabilia brought them together, and they became best friends very quickly. After graduating from university, Manzur spent all of his time re-creating the sound of his childhood. With no previous knowledge of electronic production, he used a laptop, a MIDI keyboard and Reason. Iqbal and Carrol joined to form Futurecop!. Parallels (band)
Parallels is a Canadian synthpop band from Toronto, Canada led by Holly Dodson (vocalist, composer, producer). Dodson's vocals have been compared to Kate Bush and ''True Blue''-era Madonna. In ''Flare'' Magazine's 30th anniversary issue, Dodson was featured as one of the "Hottest names to know in Canadian Music". History Beginnings (2008-2011) Parallels was created by Holly Dodson and former member, Cameron Findlay. Through an exchange of emails with Dodson, they wrote their first single "Ultralight". Findlay and Dodson continued to write more material, releasing "Ultralight" as a digital single later that year, and on vinyl on Thisisnotanexit Records in London, England. Synthwave
Synthwave (also called outrun, retrowave, or futuresynth) is an electronic music microgenre that is based predominantly on the music associated with action, science-fiction, and horror film soundtracks of the 1980s. Other influences are drawn from the decade's art and video games. Synthwave musicians often espouse nostalgia for 1980s culture and attempt to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it. Reason Studios (formerly known as Propellerhead Software) is a music software company, based in Stockholm, Sweden, and founded in 1994. It produces the studio emulation Reason. Justice (band)
Justice is a French electronic music duo consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The duo's label is Ed Banger Records, managed by Pedro Winter. Justice is known for incorporating a strong rock influence into their music and image. The band's debut album ''Cross'' was released in June 2007 to critical acclaim. The album was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album and came in at number 15 on Pitchfork's ''Top 50 Albums of 2007'' and number 18 on Blender's "25 Best Albums of 2007" list.
