The Big Pink
The Big Pink are an English electronic rock band from London, consisting of multi-instrumentalists Robertson "Robbie" Furze, Akiko Matsuura and Charlie Barker. Initially a duo, they signed to independent record label 4AD in 2009 and won the '' NME'' Philip Hall Radar Award for best new act. To date, they have released five singles, with their debut album '' A Brief History of Love'' released in September 2009 and its follow-up, ''Future This'' released in January 2012. Alan Moulder (born 11 June 1959) is an English record producer, mixing engineer, and audio engineer. Early life Moulder was born on 11 June 1959 in Boston, Lincolnshire. He was educated at Boston Grammar School. He had an interest in music from an early age, listing Cream and The Beatles among his favourite artists. The first album he bought was '' Electric Warrior'' by T. Rex, and he was impressed by the quality of the recording. He joined his first band as a teenager and recorded a demo in a local studio; it was there that he realised that it had been the production that he had so enjoyed on ''Electric Warrior'', and discovered that he was more interested in music engineering than performing. Banderas were a British female duet (music), music duo of the early 1990s who were signed to London Records. The band was an offshoot of Jimmy Somerville's band The Communards, and featured two of his female backing musicians, Scottish vocalist Caroline Buckley and English violinist/keyboardist Sally Herbert. The duo are mostly remembered for their hit single "This Is Your Life", which peaked at No. 16 in the UK Singles Chart in March 1991. The track was co-written with songwriter Roger Swallow and contains Sampling (music), samples of the song "Crack Attack" by Grace Jones from her 1989 album ''Bulletproof Heart''. "Happy House" is a song written by Siouxsie Sioux and Steven Severin and recorded by their band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was released as a single in March 1980 by record label Polydor, then later included on the band's third album, ''Kaleidoscope''. "Happy House" was the group's first record made with guitarist John McGeoch and drummer Budgie. Background and recording "Happy House" and the ''Kaleidoscope'' album marked a change in musical direction for Siouxsie and the Banshees due to the arrival of two new musicians: drummer Budgie, previously of the Slits, and guitarist John McGeoch, previously of Magazine.
