The Fuerzas Populares de Liberación "Farabundo Martí" (FPL) (English: Farabundo Martí Popular Liberation Forces) was a left wing guerrilla military and political organization in El Salvador. It was the oldest of the five groups that merged in 1980 to form the Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN). Chalatenango () is a department of El Salvador, located in the northwest of the country. The capital is the city of Chalatenango.
