Fredensborg Kommune
Fredensborg Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden (Capital Region). The municipality covers an area of 112.13 km2 and has a total population of 39,551 (as of 1 April 2014). Its mayor, since 2010, is Thomas Lykke Pedersen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The municipality was created on 1 January 2007, in a merger of the former municipalities of Karlebo Kommune and Fredensborg-Humlebæk Kommune. Fredensborg Palace is the Danish Royal Family’s spring and autumn residence. Queen Ingrid of Denmark and Prince Consort Henrik died there. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions, which contain 98 municipalities ( da, kommuner , sing.: ). The Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark 19, Zealand 17 and North Denmark 11. This structure was established per an administrative reform (Danish: ''Strukturreformen''; English: (''The'') ''Structural Reform'') of the public sector of Denmark, effective 26 June 2005 (council elections 15 November 2005), which abolished the 13 counties (; singular ) and created five regions (; singular ) which unlike the counties (1970–2006) (Danish (singular) ''amtskommune'' ) are not municipalities. Henrik, Prince Consort Of Denmark
Prince Henrik of Denmark (; born Henri Marie Jean André de Laborde de Monpezat; 11 June 1934 – 13 February 2018) was the husband of Margrethe II of Denmark. He served as her royal consort from Margrethe's accession on 14 January 1972 until his death. Henrik was born in the French commune of Talence near Bordeaux to an old French family, the Laborde de Monpezats. He spent his early years in Tonkin in French Indochina (now part of Vietnam), where his family had lived for many years. The family spent the Second World War at the family home in Cahors, France. They returned to French Indochina after the war. However, they were forced to flee following the defeat of the French in the First Indochina War. 2009 Danish Local Elections
The Danish local elections of 2009 were held on 17 November 2009. Councils were elected in Denmark's 98 municipalities and the five regions. 2468 seats were contested in the municipal elections ( previous election: 2522 seats). 205 seats were contested in the regional elections. Legal basis The electoral details are laid down in the municipal and regional electoral act. The elections are overseen by the Ministry of the Interior. 2005 Danish Local Elections
The Danish local elections of 2005 were held on 15 November 2005. 2522 municipal council members were elected in Denmark's 98 municipalities and 205 regional council members in the five regions. Most of these were newly formed municipalities, namely 66 municipalities, that would only begin working from Monday 1 January 2007, as would the newly formed regions, and one municipality, Ærø, which was also part of the reform, which was allowed by the government to commence work for the first time already Sunday 1 January 2006. So the first term of office in ''this'' newly created municipality was the whole period of four years from 2006 until 2009. Danish People's Party
The Danish People's Party ( da, Dansk Folkeparti, DPP/DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The DPP lent its support to the Venstre– Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. While not part of the cabinet, DPP cooperated closely with the governing coalition on most issues and received support for key political stances in return, to the point that the government was commonly referred to as the "VKO-government" (O being DPP's election symbol). The Green Left ( da, Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name. History 1959–1969 The SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). Larsen was removed from the ranks of the DKP for his criticism over the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen and the new SF sought to form a third way between Denmark's United States-oriented social democracy and Soviet Union–oriented communism, which sought to combine democracy with socialism.
