Fred Stroppel
Fred Stroppel is an American playwright and film writer based in New York City. He has been writing for television, film and theater for over twenty years. Credits Theater Stroppel, a member of the Theatre Artist Workshop, has had productions of his work at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, the John Houseman Theater, The Actor's Playhouse, the West Bank Cafe and the 29th Street Repertory Theater, all in New York City. His musical "Tales from the Manhattan Woods," based on Strauss' ''Die Fledermaus'', recently completed a successful run at the Wings Theatre. Stroppel's full-length comedy "Fortune's Fools" was produced off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theater and "Actor!" his satire of the entertainment world, was staged at the Egyptian Arena Theatre in Los Angeles. Playwright
A playwright or dramatist is a person who writes plays. Etymology The word "play" is from Middle English pleye, from Old English plæġ, pleġa, plæġa ("play, exercise; sport, game; drama, applause"). The word "wright" is an archaic English term for a craftsman or builder (as in a wheelwright or cartwright). The words combine to indicate a person who has "wrought" words, themes, and other elements into a dramatic form—a play. (The homophone with "write" is coincidental.) The first recorded use of the term "playwright" is from 1605, 73 years before the first written record of the term "dramatist". It appears to have been first used in a pejorative sense by Ben Jonson to suggest a mere tradesman fashioning works for the theatre. Sundance Film Festival
The Sundance Film Festival (formerly Utah/US Film Festival, then US Film and Video Festival) is an annual film festival organized by the Sundance Institute. ''A Little Curious'' is an American children's animated television series that ran on HBO Family for two seasons. The series premiered on February 1, 1999 until its final episode aired on May 1, 2000. The series, produced by Curious Pictures and HBO, was aimed at preschoolers. It was one of the cornerstone programs for the relaunch of the HBO Family channel in February 1999. Plot The 24-minute episodes are essentially anthologies of shorts centered on a common, easily digested topic word such as "slippery" or "sticky". While each short draws from the same pool of characters, they are produced in a variety of animation techniques. ''Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!'' is an American children's educational Flash animated television series created by Bob Boyle. The series was produced by Bolder Media (a joint venture of Frederator Studios and the Mixed Media Group) and Starz Media in association with Film Roman, and it was animated by Bardel Entertainment using both Toon Boom and Adobe Flash software.
