'' Home and Away'' is an Australian television soap opera. It was first broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Home And Away
''Home and Away'' (often abbreviated as ''H&A'') is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. The soap opera was initially going to be called ''Refuge'', but the name was changed to the "friendlier" title of ''Home and Away'' once production began. The show premiered with a ninety-minute pilot episode (subsequently in re-runs and on VHS known as ''Home and Away: The Movie''). Since then, each subsequent episode has aired for a duration of twenty-two minutes. Donna Bishop
Donna Bishop is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera '' Home and Away'', played by Nicola Quilter. She debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 8 November 1994 and departed on 23 June 1995. Casting Quilter joined the cast in 1994. Actress Kimberley Joseph also auditioned for the part of Donna, but it was Quilter who secured the role. Quilter starred in the series for nine months, but she felt that the role had distracted her from a music career. Norman Coburn
Norman Coburn (born 6 March 1937) is an Australian former actor best known for his television serial and soap opera roles. He started his early career in theatre, film and television in the United Kingdom in the late 1950s. Coburn became famous as High School headmaster Donald Fisher (Home and Away), Donald Fisher in the early years of soap opera ''Home and Away'', as one of 16 original cast members, he appeared from the pilot episode in 1988 until 2003, and reprised the character making brief sporadic returns between 2004 and 2007. Donald Fisher (Home And Away)
Donald Fisher is a fictional character in the Australia, Australian television soap opera ''Home and Away'' played by actor Norman Coburn as a regular character, from the soap's inception in 1988 to 2003. Fay Kelton (Born in Tasmania between 1940–41), is an Australian former actress radio, stage and television, she relocated to Melbourne in her teens. She was a regular performer on the ABC radio serial '' Blue Hills'' (1949-1976), and also appeared in the shorter serials for commercial radio ''Danse Macabre'' and ''Forests of the Night''. Dieter Kirk Brummer (5 May 1976 – 24 July 2021) was an Australian actor. Shane Parrish is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera '' Home and Away'', played by Dieter Brummer. He made his first on-screen appearance on 28 May 1992 and he departed on 13 March 1996. Casting In 1992, actor Dieter Brummer successfully auditioned for the part of Shane. Brummer was fifteen years old and had been studying drama at high school. Brummer has said the recognition was instant and admitted he found the attention "quite bizarre".
