Frank Wayne
Frank Wayne (born Rocco Francis Rossi Jr.; July 9, 1917 – March 18, 1988) was an American game show producer and host. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was also associated with Mark Goodson Productions. Biography Wayne was the original executive producer of the current incarnation of ''The Price Is Right'' from its 1972 premiere until his death in 1988. He created the show's most popular pricing game, Plinko, and many others. Both of his sons, Philip Wayne Rossi and Mark Wayne, also worked on ''Price''. Wayne is also credited with creating '' The Match Game'' in 1962 and '' Now You See It'' in 1974 for Mark Goodson–Bill Todman Productions. He filled in for Bud Collyer on ''Beat the Clock'' in Summer 1953 while a writer/stunt creator on the show, then later became the show's producer. Dick Van Dyke
Richard Wayne Van Dyke (born December 13, 1925) is an American actor, entertainer and comedian. His award-winning career has spanned seven decades in film, television, and stage. Van Dyke began his career as an entertainer on radio and television, in nightclubs, and on the Broadway stage. In 1961, he starred in the original production of '' Bye Bye Birdie'' alongside Chita Rivera, a role which earned him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Carl Reiner then cast him as Rob Petrie on the CBS television sitcom ''The Dick Van Dyke Show'' (1961–1966), which made him a household name. Roger Kurt Dobkowitz (born July 30, 1945 in San Francisco, California) is an American television producer best known for his 36-year tenure on the CBS game show ''The Price Is Right''. In addition to ''The Price Is Right'', Dobkowitz also worked on other game shows, such as ''Family Feud'', '' Double Dare'', '' Now You See It'', and ''Match Game''. Dobkowitz graduated from San Francisco State University in 1972 after completing a thesis, ''A Historical Study of Prime-Time Network Audience Participation Shows 1948-1968''. ''The Price Is Right'' Dobkowitz started as a member of the production staff with ''The Price Is Right'' when the show debuted in 1972, and became a producer in 1984. Robert William Barker (born December 12, 1923) is an American retired television game show host. He is known for hosting CBS's '' The Price Is Right'' from 1972 to 2007, making it the longest-running daytime game show in North American television history. He is also known for hosting '' Truth or Consequences'' from 1956 to 1975. Born in Darrington, Washington, in modest circumstances, Barker enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. ''Beat the Clock'' is an American television game show that involves people trying to complete challenges to win prizes while faced with a time limit. The show was a creation of Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. The show began on radio as ''Time's A-Wastin in 1948, hosted by Bud Collyer, and changed its name to ''Beat the Time'' on January 5, 1949. The show moved to television on the CBS nighttime schedule starting on March 23, 1950. On September 16, 1957, CBS premiered an afternoon version of the show as well, which ran for a year. The nighttime show was cancelled on February 16, 1958, and the afternoon program followed on September 12, 1958. Mark Leo Goodson (January 14, 1915 – December 18, 1992) was an American television producer who specialized in game shows, most frequently with his business partner Bill Todman, with whom he created Goodson-Todman Productions. Bud Collyer (born Clayton Johnson Heermance Jr., June 18, 1908 – September 8, 1969) was an American radio actor and announcer and game show host who became one of the nation's first major television game show stars. He is best remembered for his work as the first host of the TV game shows ''Beat the Clock'' and '' To Tell the Truth,'' but he was also famous in the roles of Clark Kent/Superman on radio and in animated cartoons, initially in theatrical short subjects and later on television.
