Frank Shakespeare
Francis Joseph Shakespeare (April 9, 1925 – December 14, 2022) was an American diplomat and media executive. He was the president of CBS before entering public service. He served as the United States ambassador to Portugal from 1985 to 1986 and the United States ambassador to the Holy See from 1986 to 1989. He later served as an honorary member of the board of trustees for The Heritage Foundation. Early life and education Born in New York City to Francis and Frances () Shakespeare on April 9, 1925, and raised in the Catholic faith, Shakespeare graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science. Henry Allen Holmes (born January 31, 1933) was the United States Ambassador to Portugal from 1982 to 1985 and a career diplomat. Biography Born in Bucharest, Romania to American parents, Holmes received his high school education at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, graduating in June 1950.
