Frank Beattie
Frank Whitfield Beattie (17 October 1933 – 19 November 2009) was a Scottish football player and manager. He spent his entire senior playing career with Kilmarnock, making 422 league appearances between 1954 and 1972. He was captain of Kilmarnock when they won the Scottish league championship in 1964–65. After retiring as a player, Beattie managed Albion Rovers and Stirling Albion. Early life Frank Beattie was born in St Ninian's, Stirling on 17 October 1933. He started playing football at an early age for his school St Modan's in Stirling, and later moved up to juvenile level with Dunipace and Cowie before joining Bonnybridge Juniors. During his short time at Bonnybridge, scouts from several Scottish clubs were looking at him, and, in October 1953, and just six weeks after signing for Bonnybridge, Beattie signed for Kilmarnock. The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border. From its foundation in 1890 until the breakaway Scottish Premier League (SPL) was formed in 1998, the SFL was the top level of football in Scotland. After 1998, the SFL represented levels 2 to 4 of the Scottish football league system. In June 2013, the SFL merged with the SPL to form the Scottish Professional Football League. Gordon Marshall (footballer Born 1939)
Gordon Marshall (born 2 July 1939 in Farnham, Surrey) is a former Anglo-Scottish professional football goalkeeper who played in the top flights of both Scotland and England in a 22-year senior career. Club career Heart of Midlothian Marshall began his career with Heart of Midlothian, making his debut aged only 17 in 1956. Within a season he had replaced Wilson Brown as Hearts regular custodian and was to play a significant part in one of the most successful eras in the ''Maroons history, collecting 5 major medals in his 7 years at Tynecastle. He missed only 3 matches in Hearts' 1957–58 League-winning campaign and only 1 match during the 1959–60 season, when they won a League and League Cup Double. Bobby Kennedy (footballer)
Robert Kennedy (born 23 June 1937) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a wing half or full back. Playing career Bobby Kennedy started his career at Coltness United and after trials with Queen of the South and Clyde he joined Kilmarnock in 1957. While at Kilmarnock he overcame serious illness to continue his career, which included one cap for Scotland Under 23s. He returned to the Kilmarnock team which were Scottish League Division One and Scottish Cup runners-up in 1959–60 and Division One and Scottish League Cup runners-up in 1960–61. In July 1961 Manchester City F.C. paid £45,000 for Kennedy after 85 games with Kilmarnock. He played for Manchester City for eight seasons, including the Division One championship-winning side in 1967–68 although he had not played enough games to qualify for a medal. William Waddell (footballer)
William Waddell (7 March 1921 – 14 October 1992) was a professional football player and manager. His only club in a 16-year career as a player in the outside right position (interrupted by World War II) was Rangers which yielded six major winner's medals, and he also played 18 times for Scotland. Waddell also managed Rangers – leading them to their only continental trophy in the 1972 European Cup Winners' Cup Final – and served as a director of the Glasgow club, after a spell in charge of Kilmarnock which culminated in their only Scottish league title in 1964–65, followed by some years working as a sports journalist.
