Fort Worth Vaqueros
Fort Worth Vaqueros FC is an American amateur association football, soccer club based in Fort Worth, Texas, which began play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) in May 2014. The Vaqueros play in the Lone Star Conference of the South Region. The club is based at Farrington Field, a facility owned by the Fort Worth Independent School District. The team's name was announced at the Fort Worth Livestock Exchange Building on February 13, 2014, after a name the team contest. The team's official logo was selected by the fans then revealed by the team on March 20, 2014. The team played its inaugural 2014 season at historic LaGrave Field but had to relocate in 2015 after the Fort Worth Cats, from whom the Vaqueros had been subletting the field, lost their lease. Nick Stavrou
Nicholas Stavrou (born 26 August 1969 in Worthing, Worthing, England) is an English football (association football), football midfielder and coach, who played thirteen years of professional indoor soccer with the Dallas Sidekicks (1984-2004), Dallas Sidekicks. He currently serves as head coach of Fort Worth Vaqueros FC in the National Premier Soccer League and as the assistant coach for the Mesquite Outlaws of the Major Arena Soccer League. Player College A standout midfielder at Cleveland State University, Stavrou was a 1990 Second Team All-America. A two-time MVP of the Summit League, Mid-Continent Conference, Stavrou was honored as a defender in 1989 and a midfielder in 1990. Eduardo "Pollo" Cortes (born 31 August 1993) is a Mexican footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for the Mesquite Outlaws in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Youth & College Cortes played with the FC Dallas academy for three seasons, before going to play college soccer at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis in 2012. Mark Snell (born February 23, 1958) is an American retired professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. Snell played professionally in the North American Soccer League and the Major Indoor Soccer League and coached in the FC Dallas youth system for eight years, and is widely considered one of the top youth development coaches in the country for Zone 1 (6–12 yr olds). Player Snell graduated from Lockport Senior High School where he was a 1975 High School All American soccer player and held the school record for shutouts (10) in one season for over 30 years.
