Fort Morgan High School
Fort Morgan High School is a public high school located in Fort Morgan, Colorado, United States, in Morgan County. It is one of two public high school's located in the town along with Lincoln High School. History The school was established in the 1920s. In 1931, robbers broke into the principal's office and stole $50 worth of student funds. In 1965, a new school building was constructed to replace the old one, which became a middle school. In 2000, the school was closed for four months after an asbestos cleanup went awry. The school football team were state champions in 1911,1952, 1999, and 2021. Fort Morgan is the home rule municipality city that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Morgan County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 11,597 at the 2020 United States Census. Fort Morgan is the principal city of the Fort Morgan, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Fort Morgan Camp Wardwell was established in 1865 along the Overland Trail to protect emigrants and supplies going to and from Denver and the mining districts. The fort was renamed in 1866 by General John Pope for one of his staff, Colonel Christopher A. Morgan, who had died earlier that year. The fort closed in 1868 after being used by 19 different companies from 11 cavalry and infantry regiments (about 1,300 soldiers). The mustang is a free-roaming horse of the Western United States, descended from horses brought to the Americas by the Spanish. Mustangs are often referred to as wild horses, but because they are descended from once- domesticated animals, they are actually feral horses. Asbestos () is a naturally occurring fibrous silicate mineral. Lola Spradley
Lola Spradley (born June 28, 1946) is an American politician from Colorado. She served as Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives from 2003 to 2005, the first woman elected to the position. Early life Born Lola Fox in Burlington, Colorado, she was brought up along with her six brothers and sisters on a farm near Raymer, Colorado. Trey McBride (born November 22, 1999) is an American football tight end for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Colorado State, where he was named a unanimous All-American and the John Mackey Award winner in 2021. Stanley Toshi Matsunaka (born November 12, 1953) is a former Democratic member of the Colorado State Senate, serving from 1995 to 2003. He served as President of the Senate for two years.
