ALGOL 68 (short for ''Algorithmic Language 1968'') is an imperative programming language that was conceived as a successor to the ALGOL 60 programming language, designed with the goal of a much wider scope of application and more rigorously defined syntax and semantics. The complexity of the language's definition, which runs to several hundred pages filled with non-standard terminology, made compiler implementation difficult and it was said it had "no implementations and no users". This was only partly true; ALGOL 68 did find use in several niche markets, notably in the United Kingdom where it was popular on International Computers Limited (ICL) machines, and in teaching roles. Matt Ford, better known as DJ Format (a near-inversion of his birth name), is a hip hop DJ born in Southampton, England who lives in Brighton. He collaborates frequently with Abdominal on the album '' Music For the Mature B-Boy'' and with Abdominal and fellow Canadian rapper D-Sisive on the second full album '' If You Can't Join 'Em… Beat 'Em'', as well as with Akil and Chali 2na from Jurassic 5. Career As a youth, Ford's first hip hop influences included A Tribe Called Quest and Main Source to name a few. One of his first releases was The Underground Strikes Back by Suspekt (Move. Germany 1996) features DJ Format on production and scratching. He established a relationship with Jurassic 5 and initially travelled with them as their bus driver. ''The Format'' is the sixth studio album by rapper AZ, released on November 7, 2006. The album features production from Fizzy Womack (better known as Lil' Fame of M.O.P.), Face Defeat, Emile, J. Cardim, Phonte, Statik Selektah and DJ Premier. Guest appearances are provided by M.O.P. and Little Brother as well as artists on AZ's new label, Quiet Money Records. The Format
The Format is an American indie rock band formed by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. Their style can be considered a mixture of indie, alternative, punk and folk music, with elements of 1960s and 1970s pop music. Though Means and Ruess are the foremost members of the band, they have played, toured, and recorded with Mike Schey, Mark Buzard, Don Raymond, and for the DVD recording and summer 2007 tour, The Honorary Title's drummer Adam Boyd. The Format chose their name to make fun of the music industry's inclination towards a cookie-cutter "format" for a hit. Formed in 2002, the band announced a hiatus on February 4, 2008. The album consists of B-sides from various singles released from 1996 to 2009 ('' Bilingual'' through '' Yes'', or " Before" to " Did You See Me Coming?"). It is their second B-sides album after '' Alternative'' (1995), which collected B-sides from the time of their first version of "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)" (1985) through "Yesterday, When I Was Mad" (1994). The album's release was initially announced in November 2011, then officially on 19 December 2011 through the Pet Shop Boys' official website, offering it for pre-order.
