Nevada, Texas
Nevada ( , unlike the state of Nevada) is a city in Collin County, Texas, Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 822 at the 2010 census, and 1,314 in 2020. Topanga Canyon Blues Festival
The Topanga Canyon Blues Festival is an annual event held in California, attracting blues acts from across the United States. It began in 1982. Like the Orange County Blues Festival, it attracts some of the major blues artists in the United States. Over the years the festival has been running, it has seen major blues acts such as Etta James, Willie Dixon, Otis Rush, Big Joe Turner, Lowell Fulson, Junior Wells, Pee Wee Crayton, Phil Gates and Jimmy "Preacher" Ellis. Other acts such as Paul Butterfield, William Clarke, Linda Hopkins, Philip Sayce and Roy Gaines have appeared there. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the 2020 event to be cancelled and deferred to 2021. Anson Funderburgh (born James Anson Funderburgh; November 14, 1954) is an American blues guitar player and bandleader of Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets since 1978. Their style incorporates both Chicago blues and Texas blues. Career Funderburgh was born in Plano, Texas, United States. Anson was with The Bee's Knees in 1976 and recorded "Cold Hearted Woman". In 1977 the Rockets began with Anson, Mark Hickman on Fender bass, David Watson on drums and vocalist Darrell Nulisch. In 1981, Funderburgh released the Rockets' debut album ''Talk to You By Hand'' from New Orleans, Louisiana based Black Top Records. The band consisted of Anson, with Darrell Nulisch on vocals and harmonica. The album included a cover version of Earl King's song, "Come On". William Zach "Zac" Harmon is an American blues musician from Jackson, Mississippi, United States. Harmon was signed to Toronto's NorthernBlues Music until 2015, when he announced his signing to San Francisco–based Blind Pig Records. Biography While in high school and college, Harmon played guitar for blues musicians Z. Z. Hill, Dorothy Moore and Sam Myers. He moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s in the pursuit of a career in the music industry. He worked as a studio musician, and later, built himself to become a writer/producer. Harmon produced tracks for Black Uhuru's album ''The Mystical Truth'', which also received a Grammy nomination in 1994, as well as crafting songs for The O'Jays, The Whispers, Karyn White, and Alexander O'Neal. Samuel Lawrence Taylor (June 26, 1942 – August 19, 2019) was an American bass guitarist, best known for his work as a member of Canned Heat from 1967.
